They only chat if you enable the AI copilot. Try this:
- Options > Assistance Options > Piloting > AI RADIO COMMUNICATIONS (ATC) - set to OFF
- Options > Assistance Options > User Experience > ATC VOICES - set to OFF
- Options > Control Options > Keyboard - Remove all ATC-related keybindings
- At next flight, use CUSTOM TOOLBAR on the pull-down menu to remove ATC and FLIGHT ASSISTANT buttons. Need to do this only once.
These don’t remove the ATC processing done by MSFS. These settings will mask the voices and interaction.

To everyone above, to turn off just the text (yours and ATC) that isn’t in the ATC menu box, go to controls>general options>accessibility>subtitles >off (or on if you want it).
You still get the ATC box and voices if enabled.
Took me a while to find this one. I was getting distracted by text in lower centre of the screen. Now it’s gone. Wish I could assign an off/on key on my keyboard, but I’m OK with it as is. If I missed a comm from ATC, all I do is open the ATC box to see a log of communications (I set logging to on for that reason).
Cheers folks
