Am I doing something wrong? How do I play the activities?
I have been dealing with this issue and have made several Reddit posts over the last few months but unable to get any resolution.
Fresh vanilla no mod install
Stream version
No custom settings
New computer with only one hard drive
Doesn’t work from market place either

Could you try to start in safe mode (it will disable your community and marketplace addons) ?: once in the sim, go to your Windows Task manager and terminate msfs.exe. Restart the sim and you’ll get the safe mode option.
There’s no community add-ons just marketplace DLC that does not work
Try the sim in Safe Mode as mentioned.
If it works ok, one (or some) of your DLC from the Marketplace is causing an issue.
