As an aviator I would like to see airport names for most simple airports autogenerated as signs, plaques or texts on the wall or roof of the building, w. some visual variation, so that feeling of being at particular airport would be enhanced.

It’s an interesting idea, but how would the AI system know where to put the name of the airport on the side of a building unless it were visible from the aerial photos?
I’m sure the automatic positioning is doable by some rule of thumb logic, the wall that is closest to parking slots, etc. Alternatively, sure some AI or machine learning solution would be interesting and feasible. Also, interesting topic for research.
There are quite a few smaller airports in the US that have the name and CTAF frequency written on a taxiway or ramp area, sometimes on the roof of an old hangar, but that practice is a bit of a relic and more often than not they don’t. Either way, they don’t show this in the sim unless there’s a custom scenery.
Not sure if there’s any other realistic way to do this. Do the POI flags fit the bill?
