I’ve made quite a few suggestions that got responses like, "Thanks, but I’m in (country) and that’s not an option. I might not know all the restrictions (tax, shipping, support, etc.) but I might know more than not knowing - if that makes sense.
Another benefit would be a greater sense of community, as it would be much easier to see just how widespread those of us who love this simulator are.

This is a good suggestion as long as it’s optional. I have no issues sharing my nationality, and have done so few times in this forum, but some people may not want their nationality revealed owing to certain geopolitical situations that may trigger others to treat them unfairly.

I mean, I’m not against the idea and I do see your point, but having it as optional puts things back to square one. Likewise, having it mandatory could potentially open the wrong doors as @AbhishekDey1594 has said above.
You can obviously already add your location in your profile. I haven’t because I’m lazy.
My personal view is that, do we really need to know where we’re all from anyway? Whether you’re from India, Cambodia, the US or South America (non-exaustive list of hundreds of other countries). We all share the same passion, and it’s great that we can share it without politics, religious beliefs or anything else. We just love aviation.

I thought you meant a flag next to our nameplates in the sim. Now that would be cool! Could see where all people flying everywhere around the world are from in the world IRL.

I’m also not for this for two reasons:
-
The functionality already exists (see the example below or click on my avatar)
-
It adds more visual bloat - something that the Discourse devs have been mindful of when creating this software.
The bloat is unnecessary on larger screens, and it is straight obstructive on smaller screens.
I’m not keen on this idea, even if optional, both w.r.t. issues of privacy & visual bloat, as already mentioned.
If the discord server analytics store location data, the Community Management Team could, if appropriate, post a world map showing locations in a totally anonymous manner, for example as a “push-pin” view or “circle” view, the size of circle over each country or region representing the number of users within that region or country.
