for those that are still interested in some sort of upscaling on AMD cards.
use the HYPR-RX feature that got added in the recent update.
Displays don’t have ghosting either with it, better than nothing.
Mind tho, it’s not as good as fsr 2.2 or dlss
First open adrenaline software:
activate the profile
Go into your gaming tab and open MSFS profile and set sharpening to around 50% (preference)
Enable anti lag cuz why not
After that just set your resolution in-sim (not render slider) below any of your native resolutions.

This will be a huge improvement and MSFS should consider adding it ASAP. AMD FSR 3

I did not see this requirement on the AMD site for non-Hypr-RX supported games. It basically says to set the quality level if the game supports FSR (which MSFS2020 does).
Did Hypr-RX improve fps by any chance or allow the gpu or cpu to work less? I’m hesitating to upgrade from 23.8.2 as it works very well.
FSR 3 is now officially available in Forspoken (also in the free demo for anyone who wants to give it a try). First impressions suggest that image quality is very good but frame pacing is problematic unless a software FPS limiter (like RTSS or Radeon Chill) is used.
There are notable improvements to the Super Resolution mode as well, users are reporting less ghosting and artifacting, though temporal stability is still not perfect. It also comes with the previously-announced Native AA mode, which is the equivalent to Nvidia DLAA.
Considering that MSFS is currently sitting on a broken FSR 2.1 implementation, updating to FSR 3 would be a nice improvement.

Oh boi, i hope they don’t wait till a sim update in december.
A small hot patch to implement it would be great.
Luckily msfs is very slow paced so the issues you would normally see in let’s say forsaken with faster movements with dlss or fsr would be hardly noticeable in msfs.
I will give the demo a try on my end with the 7900XTX and report back later.
Seems to give more perf than dlss fg
EDIT:
I just tested it out myself with the Forspoken (Forsaken) Demo.
even with fast mouse movements i did not notice any weirdness.
seems pretty good to me.

They never release hot patches. Not even for something that is just changing 3 values and has huge community support. FSR3 getting added this way is pretty much out of the question.
The best we could hope for is SU14, but I don’t even count on that. Sad as it is

For those that wanna try FSR3 in all games and have a RX7000 series card use these drivers.
This feature is supposed to officially come out early next year but you can allready try it.
Gave it a test in x-plane 12 quickly as i can’t update my MSFS.
it works, doubled my frames here.
Is the version that works for all games not worse quality wise though than the version that integrates natively with games?
Please do update us if you get it working in MSFS
natively implementation will always be better i am sure, but this seems to work well with my limited 5minute try out
I will let u guys know whenever i can get my msfs to work.

(right click image and open in new tab for full resolution)
afaik XP doesn’t even have motion vectors but it’s incredibly smooth now, proof of it working
I’ll try it out later for MSFS and other titles.

The 1080ti was always a factory freak powerhouse!
I’m pushing mine until it dies!
It works with MSFS, not visually perfect with fast movement.
But nothing really bad, and no ghosting on speed/alt tapes

oehh you know i want to buy a new build soon and i dont know if i should get 4070 ti for DLLS or 7900xtx
hopefully msfs will add it so that i can buy the 7900xtx
It doesn’t seem to be working for me. Using a 7900XT, DX11 and the Fenix at Ini KJFK. I don’t see the frame gen active indication in the image you posted above and dev mode fps is the same as the radeon overlay fps. Maybe it doesn’t work at 4K at the moment.

hows your performance without any FSR with fstl for example do you get stutters when looking around etc or is it smooth? , and what cpu do you have
I do get the odd stutter. CPU is a 7800x3d. Was running at 50fps until I started FSLTL where it dropped into the 30s. Live weather looks pretty grim at KJFK at the moment though. I will say in general performance seems pretty good in SU13. Was getting mid 40s at EGLL with FSLTL ultra settings and TLOD150 at night
