I believe AIG has stated they’ve started to add in a few of the bigger GA in (small jets, etc.). Hopefully one day they will get all the GA in and there will be no need for a separate mod.
I’m trying to remember where I found it, but I have a version of the MSFS traffic.bgl file that only has the civilian traffic, that drops into the Community folder. That’s an awesome solution with AIG, since you can turn civilian traffic up to 100%, and use AIG for airliners, and it doesn’t break when the sim is updated. (You just re-disable the default traffic file.)

idk why I found this post only today but Im bowing to you all for the information finally I have GA traffic from offline ai and also airline traffic from traffic controller AWESOME
Just a reminder that after WU8 you may have to edit your layout.json again.

I’m trying to make tests with AIFP3, and i managed to successfully create Custom Ai traffic flying in VFR, and have it along with AIG. MSFS Traffic is set to Ai Offline and sliders set to 2% Since all my custom create traffic files are set to 1%. So far everything seems to work with the level expected by the MSFS know ai limitations. other aspect to point out is that, if your created traffic aircraft can´t park on that particular airport (wingspan limits and parking spots available relation) they will disappear upon landing and will not spawn. Now after reading this discussion i will attempt to make use of all 3 options.. AIG, MSFS GA, and Custom created traffic.
Mmm! I get a CTD during MSFS loading after the installation of the layout.json file and GA folder. But not with the original layout.json file and the GA folder.
I tried with the offline_ai_traffic_ga_fixed folder only in the Community folder with AI traffic offline at 50% but I get MSFS airliners traffic too, which I don’t want since I have the AIG traffic.
No clue… Any idea for a work around ?
You either are in Live traffic mode or you haven´t disabled the Generic models in the traffic options menu… Souble check that.
Checked: I was
- AI offline : ON
- Traffic density : 60%
- Generic model : off
- offline_ai_traffic_ga_fixed folder activated in the Community folder
So maybe it’s another setting?
Instead of replacing the layout.json, try editing it (after making a backup of original) so it looks like it does in this post: Adding GA flights with AIG traffic - #8 by PhantomStreak
Just remove the complete trafficAircraft.bgl section from the original layout.json.
I’m having serious problems with TCAS systems. Only once in a while does it detect traffic around me, when I can see it perfectly outside the plane. Occurs on FBW, and on aircraft with GTN750.
Does anyone visiting you who has this method installed for General Traffic with AIG has the same problem?
I believe there’s a problem with MSFS TCAS in general. It only seems to work for Live AI, not offline or injected flightplans,
TCAS works for me in all the planes I’ve tried with injected offline AI traffic… Not only seen traffic but gotten TA and RA advisories in the Bae 146, PMDG 737 and MD82. Also remember seeing traffic on the SWS Kodiak with the Nxi.
Unfortunately, it seems that since update 9 (SU9), this fantastic way of providing general traffic GA on AIG has stopped working altogether.

Did you already crank up the slider for offline traffic? It is easy to forget sometimes.

Sorry that i ask this, but after all this discussion i would like to know what’s the appropriate way to do this now. Install “offline_ai_traffic_ga_fixed” in community folder and then inside MSFS set Aircraft Traffic Type to AI Offline, AI Traffic Density to > 0, Ground aircraft Density to 0, and Generic Plane Models to OFF with Traffic Variety to Ultra.
This is it right?
