This has happened several times for me now on the Steam version, I go to the content manager to find some of my addons have uninstalled themselves and I have to download them again.
It specifically happens with the Aerosoft addons I have, EDLP, EDDB, EDDK, ENVA and the CRJ
(Sim-Wings EDDM is effected by this aswell)
I have no idea what’s causing it or how to explain it in a way that Zendesk would be helpful.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening again? Some of these sceneries are 10+ GB so downloading them again is a pain.

Back up a copy of the download zip files to a different drive and rename them by adding a # or _old. That’s if they aren’t still in your download location which they should be unless Steam do things differently but even then they will download to a temp file, find out where it is for future reference.
Content purchased through the marketplace is DRM protected.
It therefore requires validation in order to be available to the player. If this validation fails then it’s possible that you will not see the content until you logout/login/restart and it successfully validates.
(This much I know from an old zendesk ticket of my own. That was their answer)
I’ve seen absent content and have seen other people describe it as “greyed out” “not in hangar” etc. It seems likely that a variation of this might be “completely deleted”
To be fair I’ve stopped using the marketplace so I no longer have these issues…
