Adopt RARE's water technology?

RARE has the most impressive water technology any video game, Sea of Thieves is a very unique title. RARE is a first party studio by Microsoft, I’m pretty certain they can allow you to borrow the code they have.

Being able to have depth to the water, rough waters due to weather or hurricanes and just the smaller details like adding in functional waterfalls when you fly close to them.

Note: If this amount of detail is too intensive for lower end computers, just have this feature for people who play on High to Ultra settings.

I guess this is one of the lower priorities as the water is already very nice in FS2020.

While the water may LOOK “really nice”, (and I question that, by current game standards)< the Water Physics, and the way Float planes and other water craft do NOT float realistically and interact with the water is really lacking.

Maybe RARE can address a lot of those issues, and make Float Planes actually Float, as opposed to just sit there at a fixed elevation, and have rough waters just flood over them.

there is all this work put into the AIR physics, but ZERO into any water physics, ie for when a Float Plane is interacting with water,

A little wake “effect” is NOT water Physics !!!

Totally agree, now that we have so many great sea planes, we need proper water physics like in XP12.

Have you checked out the enhanced water physics in the new sim?
It’s quite a significant improvement in my eyes.

Yes, I have, but only minor changes compared to MSFS2020. Mostly just visual effects. It still lacks major elements to make float plane operations realistic like bow waves for takeoff and much more.

I don’t think it’s that simple. Probably the entire engine for sea of thieves was built around the water. Combining 2 game engines like that would probably be a monumental feet.
