By default it’s a pair of buttons just like the Honeycomb trim wheel and has the same issues with laggy high speed inputs (I think it’s limitation of USB game controller interface for encoders). However you can also configure the firmware so that it becomes an axis, i.e. each click adjusts the axis by selectable amount (you can assign accelarated mode behind modifier key). Note that VKB will only work on PC.
I also notice they have now announced 10% sale on the EU site. It might be worth looking for those 5% discount codes they have had around in case they stack with that. They are based on names of partnered streamers.
