Tbh if you have the money to buy a 3090, I think it’s just worth getting a very high watt power supply.
In my case, I bought a 1200w platinum psu, not necessarily because I need it, but because it will last for a decade(with a decade warranty to boot). It’s also so with newer computer equipment I never have to worry about having to get a larger PSU.
Is the app only available when you buy an Asus card or is it downloadable for free from the Asus card site? Might want to try it or something similar with my 2070 Super setup while awaiting 3090 availability.
Best Buy has the market for the 3090 FE. It’s humorous to read some of the Q&A there - “Does Microsoft Word work better with a 3090???” But folks there have marveled at how some posters have managed to corner a FE card from BB. And the usual answer is check the site 50x a day and some say that small new batches are often released on a random Tuesday between 10 am and 1 pm (or something like that). It sounds like you have to have a BB account, be logged in with “one-click” card payment, and be very fast. One or two complaints about getting card in Shopping Card but card becoming unavailable by time of final checkout - and many, many complaints about scalpers and Best Buy doing nothing much about it.
Don’t know. Have been an Asus ROG fan for a while and only started using GPU Tweak recently when trying to get performance for VR. I suspect it might work with all Nvidia cards and I think freely downloadable from Asus support.
