Of course not, because it is an issue with Online Data trough Bing, as @sickboy771752 already stated.
Lets stick to the topic. We have online Data/Bing issue here Asobo needs to adress.
The problem I’m seeing here with the sim is that there is a box around the aircraft and that within this box, offline textures are being pushed through instead of bing textures, in essence replacing the normal online textures. Is this the same as others are seeing with this problem?
I agree with the new layer idea @DensestSnail693
. However I think it has nothing to do with new hardWare because many (including me) discovered this instantly a few weeks ago and it’s really so so obvious. Also, it happens at the vertical of the aircraft and not far away (and far away would be affected by more powerful gpus).
I think that LOD is not broken, but that it is also causing the issue. The fact that there is a circle around the aircraft allowing better texture to load is ok, it’s not broken but the issue is that this new « high res » layer comes from a different time of the year that the higher ones. It does not come from offline texture, because you can still see roads and cars on highways like google maps. It’s just a different dataset.
So the fix according to me would be to delete this new layer until all the earth has been scanned with it, and until every LOD is harmonized.
Because right now as you get closer to an area, you go from infinite LOD (lowest res), …, LOD2, LOD1 and those are fine. But as soon as LOD0 is switched (basically at the vertical of the aircraft when flying low), it switches to a different seasons, and even different year I think because you can see roadwork completing or appearing, new roads or houses popping..
Also, manual caching or anything never help because msfs downloads all lods so it will also download the new layer, that will pop in or out according to it’s position (inside or outside) the sphere of LOD0 trigger
It’s weird whatever it is … I think you are right but I shall return to the IOM to test out the draw distances with high and low lods anyway. It’s practically the same disease just that the island has always had it.
Yes, what we are seeing, is a mix of the lower quality textures that are loaded from Bing and a mix-match with higher quality textures. Especially in the Example of corsica, this is obviously seen:
Low Res:
High Res:
Somehow, the Sim has issues to lad them or blend them. Maybe we are in a transition-phase or something, that bing is updating its textures in some places. But somehow, the sim has an issue to decide which one he should load.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
It happens also in France around LFBD
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
I also confirm the problem in France in the South West sector, the flight over the Arcachon basin is very telling, it’s a horror, slabs everywhere failing to display the sandbanks.
It’s a shame for Bordeaux devs.
Don’t tell me it’s a connection speed problem, I’m on fiber.
Big problems with Bing servers for already 2 updates.
This joke made me do a reinstallation of Windows and the simulator, I spent the night there.
Tests with empty community folder and only with world updates.

TBC..
I have 99% confidence that the developers know what the problem is and are actively pursuing a solution. I expect that we’ll receive one very soon.
I just wanted to say that I completely reloaded my OS and MSFS recently, too, but not because of anything to do with my sim. Regardless of the reason, it’s still a good practice to “freshen-up” the OS, periodically.
The same on PC. It’s worthless.
I’m not sure.. it looks like only bugs with 300+ votes end up on the devs roadmap list. I hope they also look at the rest but I kind of doubt it
This bug has been there since SU5 or something on Isle of Man and it’s only now spreading to the rest of the world.
Just did a flight around the LOWI area in the alps. I couldn’t help but notice the amount of warping of the mountains when flying near them, it was basically constant. And even a lot of the flat terrain was often “retextururing” itself, changing from light green to dark green or vice versa, as if different satellite imagery of the same area was loading in or out.
Needless to say, this is highly immersion breaking and I’ve never seen it to be so intense or constant.
They REALLY need to fix this with high priority!
Yes, that’s why this thread is growing so fast. Until last SU, just a few places were affected. Well, even during SU12 Beta some places were ok (MMMY for sure), then something got wrong in the last 2 weeks with Bing data. I’m just flying in Chile and Brazil these days. At least everything is ok here (and add-ons are CTD-free)… Waiting for the next broken update…
Hey,
Could someone fly the same area on PC and see if they see that no warping or terrain swapping is happening for them? I’d appreciate the check then could know for sure if this area is not effected by the problem…KTIW-KFHR…if you have Drzewiecki design KTIW all the better. Let me know how it goes for you. Also, as you get closer to KFHR see if you see the terrain spike off the NE of runway 34…they said they fixed it but I still see it. Goes away at 4 miles from runway. Thanks.
After take-off from Malta had the same issue there over the island.
I confirm: we lost Malta. May the good Lord have mercy
I was visiting Malta 3 months ago and there was absolutely ZERO problems there with ground textures. So another area that was fine before.
Also a new observation: I can confirm that almost the whole southern Albania’s coast is bugged now. What a dissapointment for fans of beautiful Mediterranean countries.
First time that it happened to me in Corsica.
Very bad experience.
Both PC and Xbox are affected, and it’s getting worse. Asobo, we need a fix ASAP.
