Aerial Simulations F-117

Caging simply prevents an instrument, Usually a Gyro, from damaging itself by searching for the Horizon when it is initially turned On. It simply Captures the Ball, in this example of the Gyro , and is effectively rendered inoperative.
It is typically Un-Caged prior to taxiing out for takeoff, and is calibrated by the pilot’s eye. Wings Level.
Modern solid-state gyros don’t have that issue, but pilots still use the terminology “Caged”, to indicate an Inoperative status.
If left Caged during Flight, Crashes are usually the result.

Love the plane, can’t wait to see improvements. My two cents is to remove the tinted window. I can’t see anything at night!!

The tinted window was part of the anti-radar coating of the actual jets.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone eventually does a “clear glass” mod for it on flightsim.to, there have been quite a few similar addons done to either remove fingerprints/scratches or tinting in the case of aircraft that have it. If I had the foggiest idea of how to do it, I’d give it a shot.

Regarding the occasional loss of control with high elevator deflection at low speed issue. Flight testing for possible Control Recovery, I discovered this work-around… others may have found this out as well.

If you enter into the Slew Mode, using the “Y” Key, then after a second or two, toggle back into Normal Mode, with same “Y” Key, you can quickly Regain Control of the aircraft. It appears that the parameter in the software that is going off the rails and causing the stall, flip, or spin, is Halted and Reset by this “Y” key cycle action. It may require a second cycling until you get the hang of it.

This may at least provide a window on the problem, or an area where to begin looking. For now, it’s a good quick fix to keep on flying…

On PC there is some mod that you can use to make night vision. Called reshade Quick Reshade Tutorial - YouTube otherwise we wait for the FLIR update coming today? or soon.

This isn’t a bug, I’ve intentional put this behaviour in.

I saw your " Its Intentional behavior" post back when we were discussing the 50ft Control Loss upon landing. Since I have not seen the “flip and spin” Control Loss in any other aircraft I have flown here, I assumed they were possibly connected to the 50ft issue.
Is that built in Intentionally because it is a trait of the real F-117?
If so, I understand and accept, but the inability to intervene and correct the pending terminal attitude change, when you see it slowly starting to develop can be somewhat frustrating, especially when two hours away from base…
Guess like all other out of limits control situations a pilot can get bit by, we just need to identify them and stay away from that situation…! But this one Will sneak up on you.
Just a suggestion, but perhaps it could be toned down 20% or so, and still meet your goal…

With many hours in your F-117, its Not a huge issue since I know it’s there, but would be a small improvement for newer pilots on an otherwise Great flying aircraft.

Where can i purchase this besides the MSFS marketplace?

For now, it is just available at the marketplace.

I purchased It from the marketplace. Now i dont have the system.cfg to make changes to it. This is the reason why we don’t like the marketplace.

So, instead of waiting, you bought it from the MP knowing this issue?

Hi there, To begin with, very well done for creating this excellent version of the F-117. It’s clear you have put a great deal of hard work in to the project and the outcome is nothing short of brilliant. I have held off making the purchase from the FS2020 Marketplace as I would prefer the model to come with some on-board armament. 2 questions then. Have you developed an armaments pack and, if so, can you point me to the non-marketplace version ? Again, big pat on the back, very well done.

Read just literally 3 posts above yours  :stuck_out_tongue:

Oops !! Missed that one. Many thanks. I’ll keep following the posts and wait until this model is available via a non-marketplace option. I’m sure Microsoft / Asobo will be taking a percentage and I’d much rather all of the money goes to the developer for doing such a brilliant job. All the best. Ed

Agree, do not like the Marketplace, Sim Market maybe ?

Yea man, i needed this jet. Is one of my fav. Lol

Hi, if I put Mach instead ALT to gain altitude the plane put ailerons up and the speed decrease until plane roll down. Doesn´t mantain vertical ascend.

Are you giving it more throttle?
