Aerial Simulations F-117

As far as cockpit functionality id say refer to the OP for the intended functionality. No CDU or custom FCS implementation, atm UFC is INOP except for hud control but that may change soon. AHRS and ECS panels aren’t simulated except for engine bleed air, and the FLIR/DLIR panel is currently INOP, which I’m also hoping to change. Only Master Test mode is lights. Otherwise the rest of the plane should function as the real aircraft.

For the flight model, it’s close but needs some tweaks and another overall run-through of drag. I have some issues with the autopilot I need to fix and the default FCS implementation is reasonably different to the one an F-117 had, so some functions are hard to simulate without making a custom FCS as IFE have done in their F-35.

Once these things are sorted I may think about a video showcasing them, but by the time I do that it would already be submitted to the marketplace

Anyway, here’s a pic

I don’t know what other think, though I find a bit of too much reflection on the windshield external like here, I guess small adjustment would deserve this stealth aircraft :

Windshield sample

For me this link doesnt work.

Thanks, fixed right now

For me its very ok, notice this screen for example https://forums.flightsimulator.com/uploads/default/original/4X/8/a/6/8a6d02aec9659ac2a6323f1a76c200bc359ce411.jpeg , here it looks like no windshield even. It depends from an angle and the Sun position.

Btw. IRL picture:

Shiny like a hell  !

In this RL picture the picture windshield “reflection” appears to me rather more as a filtered “anti-reflection” artifact, what we get on extended eyes vision glasses filtering, than a straight reflection. The in-sim rendering is showing more straight reflection than this

Ok, now I understand what you are writing about, I don’t know if you can get the same effect in MSFS. The reflection (or maybe the better word is “shining”) of the light is definitely visible, but you cant probably get the same effect, I havent idea.

I think the more we get down into the weeds with details while waiting for the roll out of this aircraft, the more time we draw away from the developer, who is obviously very gifted in this field… AND is starting on a new real world job.
Speaking only for myself, I plan to withhold the bulk of the many suggestions and questions I might have, allowing him more time to work on this magnificent project. (the goal being to do my little bit to reduce the wait-time to roll out). Amen

There’s time we can help the designer, in order to make simmers enjoy his own improved creation based on fair feedback

I am confident that your final textures will be fine, but I am a flight-envelope guy, particularly the sound package, so without some hardware in hand, there’s not much to give feedback on. However, I will commit to provide Constructive criticism, where appropriate. Once the gear retracts, I promise to give plenty of feedback… :)) I already feel attached to this bird at the hip. It is so unique…
Atm, the only question I have is, will the Drogue Chute be functional?

This looks so fantastic that I’ll take whatever systems limitations come with the territory. I hope that as you learn you’ll be able to keep addon on to it of course, but if it flies even semi-accurately and looks as good as it does, my money is yours.

Drogue chute should work, I haven’t implemented my idea yet so can’t say for sure if it will work. I can’t see why it wouldn’t though. But atm I’m still texturing… FSD1 is in here somewhere

is this why they call it a stealth plane?

It was taken a little time for me, it wasnt easy, but finally I found it

so looks like camo skin

Btw. Interesting story - Toxic Death skin

Perhaps the most outrageous Nighthawk scheme was one called “Toxic Death,” which was applied to the stripped-down Ship Two when it was flown into retirement at Wright-Patterson in 1991, after 437 test flights. Ahead of its preservation, the jet had its black paint and volatile stealth coatings removed and was then sprayed with graffiti, which it displayed only briefly, in an episode you can read all about here.

What are you going to do about sounds? Looks amazing so far, beautiful work.

They are aliased to the hornet.

This week was again just textures, but the bulk of the work is done now. got work to do on the landing gear and Bomb bays but that shouldn’t be too intensive, then its just work through the rest of the list of things to do :joy:

Amazing work, day one buy for sure, I do see a nit pick detail you may want to fix, the star and bar emblem isn’t right, the star should be white with the circle around it a outline, again only a nit pick thing, great work, look forward to it.
