Sorry for double posting but i just posted a quick update to include the DME mod to the Amelia Special version of the plane.
Did they ever fix the window crack in the pilotâs left hand window?
As I recall they said there was an actual seam in the window glass there.
I canât speak to whether thatâs true.
Wasnât that the two panes of glass from the sliding window.
I donât think so. Looks like a texture error to me. Same in youtube reviews/comments. Iâd never heard that it was a seam before Middlecoreâs reply. I doubt itâs nearly as big of a deal outside VR, but in VR, in which I exclusively fly, itâs extremely distracting.
Iâve heard the seam excuse before, but the truth of the matter is itâs all fault of bad 3d modelling.
If you look close enough, youâll see that the windows are not lined correctly. The top of the front window would mash against the top of the back if it were to physically slide.
On the other hand, at the bottom there is a gap big enough to let medium sized bugs in.
Also, between both panels of glass there is a gap, they donât overlap when the window is closed.
Maybe itâs not the answer youâre looking for, but you can fly with the window open. Maybe youâll find it less distracting. I wouldnât know because i donât fly in VR.
Finding Howland island in the sim took me about half an hour. Itâs TINY. I had to use trajectories from the 5 circulars at the bottom of the Marshalls, and extensive use of Google Earth to find it let alone trying to find it with no aids like Amelia.
Walking around Gardener Island (Nikumaroro) was really something. The trees and flora are excellent. Thereâs a nice sandy inlet where you can land.
How well does the Electra work in FS24?
I started Ameliaâs route last year in the Electra using just dead reckoning and cellnav navigation. But got distracted with all the new planes coming into the sim. I must dust it down and try again in FS2024.
Respect!
Didnât say I didnât get lost
Works great. The only issue is the pilots donât show in external or internal
