Trash just like Captain Sim 777. Not buying it, unless all bugs worked out. I expect better from Aerosoft. This is a band-aid.

Honest Review below:
Looks like it has numerous bugs and limitations due to the SDK. Not sure I would publicly call it trash.
This entire AI traffic fiasco should be done properly and accurately by MS/Asobo. Still not sure why the AI aircraft shapes look so bad with pointy noses… completely takes the realism away… maybe there is a licensing issue.
Any issues with how the AI behaves is a fault of the sim, not Aerosoft, there’s nothing they can do on that front. It also happens with AIG.
If you want a free alternative that is scalable with your own A320 livery collection. You can check out this mod instead.
I don’t know why Microsoft have FlightAware for live traffic, so many planes fly past the airport without doing the approaches on Flight aware live flight traffic map. Much better is the OpenSky project live map that Xplane uses for their free liveTraffic install. Neither is complete and Asobo said they will work on live traffic, they are worried about frame rates. I was hoping for real live traffic with some delay but old scheduled traffic is what it may be.
Is the product incomplete? YES, regardless of who u want to blame? End user doesn’t care.
It wouldn’t be trash, if it was free. However, when u charge, company has the duty to provide product that allows for immersion.
Maybe they will get this sorted out. Seems some people here have been duped into accepting lower standards because of the simulator short comings every freaking week. We just can’t seem to take-off without some sort of emergency on the backend.
First of all, calling someone’s work “trash” is pretty disgraceful. Having helped testing an AI solution (not this one, a freeware one much less “simple”) I know very well that a LOT of hard work has gone into this package. Whether you like it or not, seeing people use this kind of harsh wording is truly saddening.
Some seem to think that since they’re talking about a company, it’s fine to throw around insults, but there are people (from what I understand a small team of independent devs that simply have Aerosoft publish this) who worked very hard to make this.
Secondly, this is not released yet. Considering how much add-ons can change as the last few rounds of bug squashing go in, deciding whether it’s “worth it” before release is normally a very bad practice. Guess whoever made the video jumped the gun to get into the algorithm early. It would have been better to wait for a final version.
Thirdly, and more importantly, this is called SIMPLE Traffic. It’s something designed to offer a simple solution that will improve the standard sim a bit, and is priced accordingly. The video most definitely does not approach it from the correct point of view of looking at it for what it is. Mind you, this is simple for the user. I can guarantee even from my limited experience that creating it wasn’t simple (or quick) at all.
It’s certainly not for everyone, and if you want a more complex and complete solution (and work-intensive to implement), there are multiple coming. But for those who simply want what this promises, and nothing more, I’d say it’s very far from “trash” or CaptainSim’s 777.
If I had known the review link provided was from that specific content creator, I would have dismissed this post without even opening it. I stopped viewing his content months ago. I wish I could ignore him. His stuff gets in the way of credible, objective, and non-biased content.
Here’s a link to the Aerosoft product info page describing what this product was intended for:
“Aerosoft Tool Simple Traffic has only one goal: To replace the default fictional liveries of the simulator with existing liveries”
That’s it.
The project manager clearly states this on their website. No, it’s obviously not going to satisfy most people’s desires, but it does address the issue with default liveries.
Aerosoft was very brave to trust that this content creator would base his review on what they developed and intended it to offer. Instead, you get a content creator that was hoping for a complete Traffic AI fix and an AI Traffic Model upgrade. Aerosoft should have clearly stated to this content creator exactly what their little side project was intended to do.
I am irritated that this thread click baited me to view content from this content creator
That guy is completely right … and mentions several times its WIP and mentions multilple times bug are probably caused by Asobo etc etc … and he is honest because he was approached by AS … and and did not give a positive review to “stay friends” ( like other so called “journalists” )
Do not forget this “simple” traffic is costing €15 … and the current freeware SIMPLY does a BETTER job for free.
The BETA AIG is way better then this €15 euro texture mess … or the vatsim model matched from flightsim.to for example
What, you don’t take a YouTube celebrity who calls himself “Pilot Studd” seriously?
The original poster apparently didn’t read any of Aerosoft’s pre-release promo material for this, which has been very clear this is a simple (and thus very inexpensive) add-on meant to fill a gap while we wait for Asobo to build out the AI capabilities of the sim.
Even if the liveries and schedules aren’t accurate, I’m excited about this. Way better than the generic primary color AI the sim ships with.
The YT guy is not reviewing a $14.99 product. He’s reviewing the product he wants, not the product Aerosoft is very clearly offering.
Where’s the freeware I can download in a single file from one source? Am I missing something? I saw an A320 add-on that requires me to hunt dozens of liveries and creates a world of nothing but A320s. I’d rather spend that time flying.
Search … or pay me €15 and i will tell you (added 2 GOOD and FREE options in my previous post )
You don’t make a video about whether something is “worth it” and when it’s WIP. Mentioning it doesn’t change that. Something is worth its price or not when it does have a price, which means when it’s finished and released.
The comparison with freeware whatever is completely unfitting. A lot of work went into this just like a lot of work goes into freeware.
The fact that some decide to do this kind of work as unpaid volunteers does not negate the right to fair compensation for those who do it as a job, just like the existence of the freeware A32NX doesn’t mean that payware aircraft devs have no right to ask to be paid.
This has been in the works for several months. Considering the work that went into it and the usual price of flight simulator add-ons, €15 is definitely on the cheap side.
You think whatever beta is better than this? Awesome. Use that. Obviously this isn’t for you (or for me either). But this doesn’t change the fact that there definitely is a target that will appreciate a simple and easy solution that doesn’t require lengthy and complex setups (like, incidentally, the beta you mention), takes nearly no hardware resources, and doesn’t require installing tons of models that aren’t yet optimized for MSFS (like, incidentally, the beta you mention), while making their airports more crowded and colorful.
Add to that the fact that this add-on works as a fallback for other packages that don’t have every model and livery in the world (because at the moment none that has everything exists), and that’s additional value.
Neither fits what he asked.
Why do you think AS is approaching youtube reviewers …. To PROMOTE this mess and earn money … so yes they can have a bad review on a “unfinished “ product. AEROSOFT IS JUMPING ON THE HYPE TRAIN AGAIN… and it can backfire
“Poor aerosoft did so much work”. I work hard for those €15 also … ITS THEIR JOB. And sur by saying “its not perfect … meant as fun easy product” they did cover their you know what upfront … so they can come up we told you so stupid customer.
If anyone looking at the video pictures think its worth it to pay €15 for something freeware does better … they are free to buy.
And yes … both the AIG and the vatsim AI thing are both doing a better job for free
Get AIG for free, as mentioned does the job much better!
Yes and the below is working super for months also. Perfect NO … but the €15 payware is even worse
Used the below software for months now … and they have a static solution also.
You know you can just copy and paste the link to the mod instead of taking a photo then upload the photo here…
Wow … thanks for the tip. just made a picture to show it looks great and u did not pay me the € 15 right
How difficult is it to search anyway ??
Here it is for your convenience …. Ah sorry MY link is in dutch … but i suppose you can translate right … now why would I just post a picture
Hi there, thanks for posting this and for the support! I wouldn’t call this product trash, personally. I just don’t believe it’s up to the Aerosoft Level we all come to expect. It has it’s place to be sure but IMO that place is small and not for me! I gave it a rating of 4/10 with some people asking for worse, others for a better score, to me that shows a balanced review! Have a great day
Hi there! I had a good chuckle at this comment: celebrity, I wish!! I completely respect your opinion and as I said in the video, some people will love it! As with all of my reviews, I try and remain as honest as possible and frankly, I was really looking forward to this. But I just struggle to see what it adds, I dislike the default Asobo models greatly so seeing more of them or just in some-what realistic liveries does not add much to my experience as I said. It’s important to set expectations right, this seems to me, purely as a filler for future better things (as they say) and I would not pay $15 for it myself. PS: My name is a combination of my last name and what I do in my free time, I’m sure you can put it together
Have a great day,
Brandon
