Understood. From my experience when it comes to pricing in my company I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
Ow, don’t worry, Not hoping for or expecting anything :). Just thought it was interesting seeing as MSFS looks like it’s going to have a bigger userbase than any flight sim before it.
I have not been able to make the aircraft rotate. As much as I pull back on my yoke it wont lift up. It just keeps rolling on the ground. It is weird because I can see the stabilizer and move up and down when I move my yoke, same with the ailerons.
With any sort of revenue vs. price curve there’s a sweet spot. You can raise prices too high and the sales loss is such that you can’t recoup the lost volume. Price it too low and the extra volume can’t make up for it.
Given that Aerosoft etc. have been in the business of selling these types of products for a bit, I would imagine that they’re well aware of the economics involved and have priced things appropriately to the best of their knowledge.
To be honest if you priced things cheaper I’d be surprised if sales volume went up dramatically. I feel like this sort of thing is binary to some degree - you’re either into the level step in fidelity and complication, or you’re not. And there’s just the right price point to dangle the carrot for those who are intrigued just enough to take the leap.
I’m very happy to hear that. I wish everyone involved with MSFS the very best, for purely selfish reasons…
And, we certainly have one happy aerosoft customer here!
I got a copy even tho with the current performance it’s not really enjoyable to play. I’m glad I bought it to support the developers and see future quality products coming out. I Really want a study level A320.
i want to get my hands on this plane, as ive only heard great things about it, but i just dont have the funds atm
Are you on the Modern flight model? Have you read the manuals, or at least followed the Tutorial flight?
Aerosoft are the first out of the gate with a complex airliner, and they deserve the money and successful sales they get.
Hopefully this now sets the bar for other 3rd party devs and modders.
This plane really isn’t my thing. I may get it at some point down the road, but regardless, I think we all benefit from what they’ve accomplished here whether we buy it or not.
I can’t find an FSUIPC binding that works correctly for the throttles. I ended up binding them through the sim which is a bit of a pain. See posts here:
The instructions are clear on this - multi position switches or rotary switches require a mouse wheel to change
May I add A2A, QW787 and the wonderful Q400 to this, life will be great
I’m having trouble getting the autopilot to engage.
I’ve watched multiple tutorials (including The Dude’s) and nothing seems to work. FMS is selected, flight plan is input correctly via FMS and shows on the ND, but when I click the engage AP button, it immediately plays the autopilot disengage warning sound and never engages. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong somewhere, but I haven’t been able to figure it out yet. Is anyone else experiencing this?
@ProCamper965182, are both YD (Yaw damper) switches engaged on the center pedestal?
Ah, I did miss that, but now when I go to click them (mid-flight) they won’t turn on.
Ok, not sure on that one. I do know the YD1 and YD2 switches don’t light up when on. Is there an EICAS message on the MFD that says something along the lines of Yaw Damper Off or Inop?
No, there’s no warning on the ECAM page. There were a couple caution messages that I think were unrelated but I just quit the flight so I’ll try again another time and see if I can get everything done in the right order.
you’ll get a message that says Yaw Damper Off
I highly recommend working through the Tutorial (Vol 3 of the manual)
Fair dos SSB, we all do that, apology accepted.
For me any form of AP/AI piloting is good because I miss being up there when my arms are too painful, usually it’s my legs and groin so at least I can learn to fly to distract me. But, yes, I was speaking in misleadingly vague/incorrect terms about what it is I was talking about.
Be well sir.
