From the FSElite article and the broad overview of this product, struggling to see how this differs from FSRealistic. Is this intended to be a competitor?
I’m going to be totally honest I think the value in this tool is the more authentic sounds it brings thanks to Echo19 and the ease of use. It doesn’t run externally, direct install to toolbar and sounds all run seamlessly.
Don’t think it is suppose to compete with FSRealistic, I think it works well and the added ambient sounds do add another level of immersion.
I’m sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations. Strong opinions usually come from people who care about immersion, and that’s something we care deeply about as well.
We contributed sound effects to AeroTone, and we stand by the quality of the work we delivered within the product’s scope and vision. AeroTone is not intended to replace FSRealistic; it’s a different approach with a different feature set and room to grow. Like most new releases, it’s designed to evolve over time.
SoFly has been very open to feedback, and constructive input is what helps products improve for everyone. If there are specific areas you feel miss the mark, I’d strongly encourage sharing that directly with them.
Wishing you all the best, and a good holiday season ahead.
Thanks for the feedback, and I will provide same to SoFly. But this is a low effort app as it stands and in my opinion was not ready to sell as a $29 product.
It doesn’t even deliver what it claims on the website. I hope to see it grow since I am already invested but as it stands I would not recommend this to anyone in the state it is in, for any purpose or use.
Thanks for this honest talk. I’m using Tylers Sounds for Cessna 172 and they are top notch. Even better then expected, when I bought the add on. FS realistic is a standard tool for me and it runs on every flight. Thus I’m curious, if I’d benefit from Aerotone in any way. As @TyFighter3910 you have all the insights, can you give one/two sentences what your additional value would be or maybe Calum can do that, as it is his App. Thanks in advance!
Well all I can say is that there is literally nothing that would be added or improved with this app from what you have now. If you want a clear, significant downgrade to eliminate what you have now, this would do it. Nothing here for you at all as it stands in its current form.
With this now bein in the marketplace, its available to xbox users (and I presume PS5 also?). As console users don’t have access to FSRealistic or other, external atc focused add-ons anyway, I wondered if this would be considered a worthwhile upgrade over the base sim?
Also, on a personal note, I fly almost exclusively GA aircraft - do you think there is a big enough improvement to the soundscape there to justify the price point? Just looking for some opinions from those that have picked this up.
Personally yes it would make a difference if you are flying GA, remember though it isn’t a replacement or rival to FS Realistic and will only provide enhancements on sound which again in my opinion is much better than default.
That doesn’t sound too good. I’m okay and can understand reduced features sometimes, but you do expect what’s there to actually work okay.
In what way does it impact the sim? Just pure memory load? That was one of my concerns, seeing as the xbox doesn’t have a lot of overhead to start with.
Edit: Just looked now and it has indeed been made PC only. It definitely wasn’t before as I had it in my wishlist, and was hovering over the purchase button the other night- must be some major issues with it…
Hi, I would like to let you know that your project Aerotone only partially works. I did have an issue with the ATC sound effects after a short while where nothing could be heard. At the moment Aerotone has only just been released, but, I flew a microlight aircraft recently and had used Aerotone and heard nothing when activating and saving the ATC or any other ‘new’ sounds once activated. This needs to be looked into as £25 is a tad steep for what you’d expect for something that doesn’t give audio as it should. I selected the correct aircraft - the only problem is this advertisment slogan: “Every aircraft in your Hanger (past, present and future)” this isn’t exactly true is it? I use my home PC BTW, many thanks.
