After start in mid-air (from world map) Powrachute Sky Rascal drops or spirals to ground

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Issue variant 1

After start in mid-air (from world map) the Powrachute Sky Rascal fails to gain speed and “fly”. It stays at 10 knots and the Powrachute slowly drops out of the sky like a parachute. There is nothing I can do (with the controls) to prevent this.

When I am lucky and I am in Dev mode with crash detection off and I am lucky to not have landed in a forest or building, I can then start the aircraft “normally” from the ground (e.g. meadow) and it behaves normally.

Had this ~8 times today.

Issue variant 2

After start in mid-air (from world map) the Powrachute Sky Rascal quickly rolls to the side (with my yoke being centered!) and spirals toward the ground, again with no chance of ever gaining control.

Had this ~6 times today.

Expected behaviour

The aircraft starts with an adequate flying AIRSPEED (like ~20 knots) and centered.

Had this ~13 times today.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Today this happened in an estimated 30-50% of all cases where I initiated the flight in mid-air instead of from an airfield.

I am pretty sure I didn’t have this issue with SU 4 as I often start my flights in mid-air, similar to the “World Photographer” missions.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start MSFS2024
  2. Choose “Free flight”
  3. Choose Powrachute Sky Rascal as aircraft
  4. Optional: Disable wind to remove possible wind effects as cause for this issue.
  5. On the world map, click any point outside an airfield to start the flight in mid air.

Trying to reproduce for writing this bug report:

  • Initial flight after FS2024 startup → immediately rolling left, uncontrollable (See video below)

  • Restart of flight → Everyhing OK

  • FS2024 restart. initial flight after startup → immediately rolling right, uncontrollable

  • Restart of flight → Everyhing OK

  • FS2024 restart. Initial flight, 2nd and 3rd flight OK

  • Starting from world map on different location → immediately rolling left, could only prevent spiralling by reacting quickly.

  • Restart of flight → Everyhing OK

YOUR SETTINGS

  • Using CH Products “FLIGHT SIM YOKE”.

  • Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
Sometimes. This is not restricted to Dev mode.

MEDIA

Issue variant 2

I noted in another video of an instant rolling that when the AIRSPEED indicator becomes visible after like 0.5s, it shows only 12kts which is not sufficient.
grafik

In contrast, in a “normal” flight, it shows 15 or 16 kts when it becomes visible.
I wonder if this indicates that sometimes the aircraft is initiated with a too low speed?
