ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Landing pad on agriculture truck is too small. When you search for h125 spraying in internet the trucks are mutch bigger and the platform is at least 1 meter wider than in the game.
I thinks the trucks are made for the Robinson r66 not the h125.
Another problem is the placement of the trucks. 4/5 missions the trucks are placed under trees or to close to and object resulting in crash or stuck in the tree. Sometimes they are even parked in a slope.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time.
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start a agriculture mission
  2. Fly to the spray truck
  3. Try to land

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

Huey landing without bouncing and landing on a right size truck

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes!

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Its a TIGHT fit! even in VR and external view, plus the issue with helicopters and platform physics makes it really hard, even for experts :frowning: Helicopters jump in and out of ground effect when near raised platforms, the CFD is not calculating the drop

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

They must remove the bounce on the platforms. Without the bounce it would be nearly possible to land.

• yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• the landing pad was too small from the video you can see the size was original for small heli not for bell.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

My helicopter spins around like crazy when I get a few feet from the truck.

MSFS 2020 ground effect bug on raised platforms… and they say 2024 was a complete ground up new development… yeah right

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes the landing pad is smaller than even the smaller R66 skids regardless of the direction or orientation of landing.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• The collision mesh on the top doesn’t match the surface area, so you can only land with either one skid or one half of both skids. But can’t land with both skids and be supported. You just fall right through the truck. You are actually landing mostly on the tank under the platform, since the platform is mostly ethereal.

I find it almost impossible to land on the truck platform. there has to be some ground effect bug. It fires my helicopter up in the air as soon as I get within 10 feet of the platform. Makes agri flying so frustrating.

Yeah it seems to be the same ground effect bug from MSFS 2020 that they fixed. It’s back in MSFS 2024 :pensive:

With a bit of luck I can land on the pad by rapidly lowering the collective and hitting the pad at a 45° angle. It then takes a bit of shifting the skids around with cyclic and pedal to find some balance. And, well, it often involves a bit of damage to the skids. So, yeah, make the pad bigger and solve the Ground Effect bug. Until then it’s an exercise in frustration. Oh, and the R66 dust! That makes it harder yet.

Not to speak of the extreme low fps on Xbox when the dust appears. It lowers the fps to unplayable.

• Yes, it is not only extremely small but there is such an anormal ground effect all of a sudden when approaching the truck that is is virtually impossible to control.

The landing platform is really small. The helicopters are tipping over and sliding off the landing platform. The size of the platform needs to be increased.

The framing around the tank doesn’t have any collision, only the rounded tank inside of it. So good luck trying to land on it at all. And if you do, get ready to just fall off in the following cutscene because you can no longer correct your inevitable sliding with inputs.

There is also an issue when approaching some trucks from certain sides. It will send your helicopter into a vicious spin for no reason, as if the ground effect has suddenly quadrupled.

Awful quality of some of these missions. Expecting the minimum and still disappointed.

The ground effect bug is on every raised platform :pensive:

The ground effect is also incorrect when flying low over trees. It suddenly pushes the helicopter up and to the right. A huge mistake on the part of the developer. This was not tested by the development team.

Yeah it’s ridiculous how they could miss this bug. Same on buildings too.

I agree after trying this mission tonight. In the real world a RW helicopter pilot has way more visibility than in the sim he also has multiple mirrors that actually show stuff not a blur. Its fine for real life but exceptions need to be made for the obvious restrictions of a sim/game. A bigger pad or just land next to truck. I don’t think here in Australia helis land on trucks for AG work.

Looks fairly easy…
