AI ATC Assist repeatedly requests destination change to original IFR filed destination

The copilot assist during an IFR flight from Spokane to Seatle in the 320 Neo in build repeatedly requested destination change to Seatle in mid flight. Clearance was given during descent to the approach with request to climb to cruise altitude which I ignored since only about 10 miles from IAF and would never be able to complete the approach. This fault seemed to totally disrupt the ATC function. System is PC Microsoft store bought with all upgrades. Please add the msfs-2020 or msfs-2024 tag to your post, depending on which sim your post is about.

Yes, happened to me yesterday flying to Moscow exactly like you described - during descent. I had to switch off radio and switched it ON only to taxi to gates.

Getting the same since last patch. Sad to see ATC going even further down the drain.

ATC expects and demands that you make each waypoint on your FP.
Until you change your FP with the ATC.

The plane will fly whatever is setup on its FMS.
The FMS does not care what the ATC wants.
It doesn’t even know that there is an ATC.

The Pilot does.

I’ve had limited success with ATC. The entire flight planning system needs to be completely rewritten. My first attempt resulted in nothing in the FMC and error messages kept popping up in the FMC. Somehow I managed to get a flight plan loaded. So far so good until I reach my destination. ATC clears me for an approach but the approach and VIA is are not in anything! I didn’t want to mess with vectors for waypoints that aren’t available.

I ended up requesting a different runway and approach which ATC approved. I updated the flight plan with the new approach. I then went to the generic EFB and “RETRIEVED” the flight plan from the avionics. I then sent the flight plan to ATC. Everybody was happy as I successfully flew the approach. But all this needs a lot of work.

Had the same issue too

I understand what ATC expects in regards to the FP. The issues with ATC and its guidance regarding climb and descent is seriously flawed in relation to reality. How realistic is it for ATC to clear you to cruise altitude before even taking off? Or, instructing to descend from 38k to 3k when you’re inside 75 miles from the destination? Or, instructing descent from cruise inside the 75 miles, changing your approach, then instructing you to climb back to cruise alt when you’re inside 40 miles. I could go on and on. It’s broken…badly.
