AIG AI Manager and Traffic Controller for MSFS

That is what I am asking: is switching ‘use generic plane models’ to ‘off’ not resulting in all addon aircrafts potentially being used as AI. I do not know. I would really love a simple PDF including all relevant MSFS settings for AIG and what they do…

Hi all,

Does reducing the traffic slider within MSFS reduce the amount of AIG traffic I’ll see?

Sorry if a silly question but not sure!

As I am CPU limited I9 11900k I want to try these settings but not sure if it will effect AIG

I believe the best way is to turn it OFF and use the flightplans provided by AIG. And you can adjust the traffic inside AIGTC with the percentage slider.

Also, ground aircraft density should be set to 0 if you want to ease on resources.

I finally managed to improve my FPS with AIG in major handcrafted airports (LAX etc…). I had my FPS limit locked to 60 in NVIDIA control panel from a while ago and left it that way. I freed it up!

you need to go into the aircraft.cfg file, in any of the [fltsim.x] sections and make sure “isairtraffic=0”

Correct, this is AIG’s recommendation. The problem is that by doing so, you immediately exclude all GA traffic as AIG is only about airliners. And some people prefer to have both traffic types at the same time, because that’s how real world works.

I only wish that there was an inbuilt way to differentiate between the two rather than having one traffic/ground density to control them all.

When I turn off AI traffic it seems to turn AIG traffic off aswell?

Could you share your slider settings for the attached?

You need to use/RUN the AIG TC (Traffic Controller) program to properly inject the ai traffic.

First - AIG is now doing corporate jets
Second - there is a mod to force GA using the stock .bgl files as noted earlier in this thread (to work you will need to turn Ai to “Offline” and run TC as well).

I believe that AIG traffic is turned on/off directly from the app and not via MSFS. In AIG Traffic Controller there are a couple of buttons to Inject/Delete traffic and you’ll need to use these as soon as your flight loads.

The sliders in MSFS can work as a bonus if you want additional aircraft, but the recommendation is to disable “AI Offline” (or Live traffic).

I’m aware of both points and I’ve tried the latter, but not extensivly due to regular CTDs during approach. I haven’t pintpointed the crashes to anything specific yet, but I suspect it may be a combination of AIG with multiplayer and/or Little Navmap. Still trying to replicate various scenarios.

Anyway, I was talking about an inbuilt mechanism to control this mixed traffic (created by Asobo), not a mod that hasn’t been updated since forever.

AIG is not controlled within the sim for that matter. Just turn OFF traffic type completely and set ground aircraft density to 0. Also AI and multiplayer generics (bottom of the page) should be turned off and set to ULTRA.

That’s it for the sim settings.

Now for AIG to work, you need to launch AIG Traffic Controller app after you load at an airport. It needs to run alongside the sim.

Thank you I will try this!!!

Can someone explain please how to add flight plans?

I have traffic injected and visible but it’s a bit off seeing a Ryanair 737 at NYC.

I’ve set ground traffic density to 0. When I disable AI traffic I lose everything. Its a very empty airport.

Basically want to disable everything traffic related bar AIG.

let me guess…you do not have ground traffic slider set to zero…that is why the game is putting random spawns.

No I do not.

AIG traffic settings.

When I set AI traffic to off I lose all traffic including AIG.

I noticed I don’t have AIGPF directory selected should that be pointed at something?

Thanks for all the help

Have you installed flight plans in the AIG Manager?

Thanks for your response.

Not sure if done correctly but please see below.

Those are the “installed” plans - if you click “online”, you can then click on the “updated” and AIG will update the models, etc.

As for the screen shot of AIG Traffic controller, here is what I have (H: is my dedicated gaming drive).

**not sure if all those directory links are required

You are part way there.
Click the online tab.
In there you will see Updated on the right.
Click that.
Install those that show up.
When finished, click on settings.
Then top right AIGAIM-OCI
On the bottom row of that screen click verify setup.
After done, you have the AIG Manager set up.
To use AIG, after you have MSFS running with your flightplan loaded, start the AIG Traffic Controller.

You should have lots of AI with the correct airlines at the proper airports.
