AIG AI Manager and Traffic Controller for MSFS

Well that entirely depend on how it affect an individuals sense of realism. For me AI behaving non realistically is a massive immersion killer. I dont even like them going through ground vehicles or each other, it just ceases to look realistic and take me out of the moment.

sure thing…I guess you enjoy seeing Southwest or Frontier airlines in Europe or RyanAir, WestJet and EZJet in the US.

No, I dislike that and that’s why I disable parked aircraft. I would rather an airport is empty that incorrectly populated. I dont fly those regions anyway though, I fly UK and from payware airports to payware airports so the parked airlines are correct and the traffic is correct. This is what I tried to explain to you yesterday when I said “Static aircraft at most airports I fly too”. I mod my environment to give me the most realistic and real time setup I can and if I have to throw money at it to do so so be it.

gotcha…static planes = realism.

Yes if mixed with live traffic with the correct airline liveries. That’s about as close to realism as the sim allows for people who enjoy sharing the skies with simulations of real flights.

Yesterday at KBUR I had two SW planes on the runway at the same time while another was pirouetting on the taxiway. I had to go through the spinning plane and take off through the SW planes. So yeah, while AIG can be - and usually is - better than static planes, it still needs work. I’d hope we can all agree on that.

Des…that isn’t an AIG “needs work” issue…that is a sim issue that the devs still need to fix (you know, because it was a selling point of this game nearly 2 years ago).

Now there we can agree.

Hi All,

I recently watched BobbyFuzzy’s excellent tutorial on AIG Air Manager setup. One thing that I did have to troubleshoot, though, is the 255-character limitation error message. I guess due to my community folder location, AIGAI was giving me this error.

I’m fairly PC-savvy, but I did not want to go and amend my registry and group settings to allow the longer file names out of nervousness for messing up a brand new computer so I tried to use the AIGAI error message tips to create a new location and link.

What I did to solve- backed a few steps up.

  1. Remove the OCI directory in AIGAI
  2. Delete the OCI directory from your official community folder location
  3. Restart AIGAI
  4. Create a new folder somewhere with a much less character count from the start. I just used my G:/ drive and a folder on there.
  5. Setup the OCI directory again, point it to this new folder.
  6. Allow AIGAI to restart
  7. Go back into AIGAI settings under the OCI directory and “create a link”
  8. Point the link to your new folder location in G:/ drive.
  9. Check that your G:/ drive location for the OCI directory is populated and full of files
  10. Check your community folder for a link/shortcut to this G:/ drive location
  11. Resume BobbyFuzzy’s tutorial where you open up MSFS and then Traffic Controller to test one airline livery.
  12. Enjoy!

I hope this helps anyone with this error and who doesn’t want to mess with registry edits or group setting edits. I am sure that the registry/group process is fairly straightforward, but as of now linking is confirmed to work.

Me too. Keep getting WHEA uncorrectable error everytime I use it.

The traffic injected by the AIG Traffic Controller (when selected OFF for ai traffic in MSFS) is awful. The AIG Traffic Controller only injects traffic in the airports but NOT traffic in ROUTE. I made a flight from KDEN to KSDF and I didnt meet a single plane in the whole route… I should meet planes fying from KMCI to KDEN or flights from KLAS to KMCI, or flights from KORD to KLAX, or flights from KDFW to KSTL, etc, etc, etc… but NOTHING!!! I just had planes in KDEN airport and when arriving to KSDF :face_with_raised_eyebrow: awful!!!

it doesnt matter where in the world Im flying AIG Traffic Controller its not injecting IN ROUTE traffic

So, i think I prefer flying with live traffic. Yes, Im going to have quite empty airports but not empty skies

Interesting. I usually get a lot of en route traffic with TC.

Im not telling you are wrong. Its good to know that surely Im using wrong the AIG TC, so it would be great if you can show me how you have configured your MSFS ai traffic and the TC program. Thanks in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

Could you show me how you have configured your TC program and the MSFS traffic in the sim? If im using wrong the mood it would be fantastic to have help… please

You refereed to offline AI traffic, not AIG traffic. Does AIG traffic show up in your TCAS? I honestly don’t know if it does.

I know it’s of no real help but I have Live Traffic on as well as AIG at 100%. My airports are usually as populated as they are IRL and I get lots of enroute traffic - so much so that last night I couldn’t get a call in to acknowledge an instruction several times. Everything set up as per AIG instructions.

for those who want to checkout the new airports in todays WU with AI. So far we have tested Faro and Pico, both have some issues.

At Pico AI will have issues to taxi, a quick checked suggested the way the parkingspots are placed and connected.

At Faro there are overlapping spots again as well as some issues with the vehicle network, but overall the ground taxi-flow seems fine.

I have done a looooooot of flights using only the AIG Traffic controller and I can confirm that it never shows traffic IN ROUTE.

Yes, it shows planes departing and arriving to the airports near my position but NOT traffic IN ROUTE.

Arriving and Departing traffic its NOT IN ROUTE traffic. Just to mention and example, if Im in Sacramento Intl Airport KSMF im getting traffic arriving and departing KSMF or if Im lucky departing and arriving traffic to/from airports near KSMF like Oakland airport KOAK but NEVER getting traffic IN ROUTE like airplanes coming from CYVR to KLAS, or traffic from KLAS to KPDX that should be there… and this is only one example…

No matter where in the world AIG Traffic Controler never displays IN ROUTE traffic… Only arriving and departing traffic.
