Airbus a320 - turn off managed mode

How do you turn off speed and heading managed mode after update 5?

Can you pull the knob with the downward arrow on the cursor?

Hi Neo4316,

There is no down arrow after Update 5

it says to press ā€˜mid click to interact’ - how do you do that?
If I press the left mouse button followed by the right, it engages managed mode, but not sure how to disable it?

switch to LEGACY mode for cockpit interaction.
You find this in Settings under General → Accessibility.

The new LOCK mode is not working very reliable with the FBW mod, I’m afraid.
But it should work as:

left Mouse button hold + click on mouse wheel for pull / managed mode
left Mouse button hold + right mouse button for push / selected mode

Isn’t it the other way around though? Push is Managed mode, Pull is Selected mode.

still cant get it to work. might try legacy mode

Might have mixes that up, right.

The key combos are the right rhough.

Still having issues with it so decided to go back to legacy for now.

not sure what i did but it changes to selected mode, but now I cant get it back to managed mode.
this is killing me

I’m having the same issue. Can’t get it to push or pull. Did u find a fix?

Yes, i found a fix.
go into general options/accessibility and change cockpit interaction system to Legacy
You will go back to the old cursor.

Hi, this mentioned fix seems to be working but it isn’t! The classical user interface works after following this hint, but you only can switch from managed mode to directed mode. The function to reactivate the managed mode does not work anymore, although it worked before the July 27 update.
This is a very important function: push and pull the knobs at the FCU!!!
Please guys repair this bug asap. Thanks a lot!

This is busted. I flew the Airbus selected/managed heading, alt and speed no problem before update but the new Selected/Managed buttons are not working. Switched to Legacy as per some of the posts here and the old interactions come back, knob up and down, but the AP does not follow instructions through the flight, starts to veer off flight plan and doesn’t adjust alt properly. Giving up until its fixed.

You only need to switch the ā€œCockpit Interactionā€ to LEGACY.
Your ā€œFlight modelā€ needs to stay in MODERN. Don’t use LEGACY on this one.

It’s essential to keep the flight model at MODERN and not switch to LEGACY for 99% of the add-ons and 100% of the default aircraft.

Calling the PC like switching LEGACY is about the worst and most misleading terminology Asobo/MS could have used.

I agree… but it is what it’s shown right now in the UI. If they decided to change the terminology, then we’ll use the new terminology. Until then, I use whatever terminology it’s shown.

Yep, didn’t switch the flight model, just the cockpit interactions.

Hmm.. I wonder what else is causing your autopilot to misbehave…

Have you checked your Flight controls sensitivity by adding deadzones of at least 5% for all X,Y, and Z axis controls?

Then turn off all assists by setting them to Hard/True to Life.
And also to make sure your Copilot Flight Assists are all turned off too.

Thank you! It seems that changing assists to hard-true to life was the ticket! Everything works the way it should now. If they could only fix the atc altitude bug although I did read it’s ok if live weather is off.

Yeah, I end up switching to altimeter around 995 hPa when I passed the transition altitude which seems to be where the ATC is reading the altitude. When I do this, both the aircraft and the ATC is reading the same altitude, so it silences them from giving you the expedite instructions.
