I don’t know if this is a bug or I’m doing something wrong, this has never worked in a reliable manner for me. On the World Map, it doesn’t matter how I try to set up the fuel quantity and load for the aircraft, when I spawn in the world for the flight, it’s always back at 50% fuel and default load values. This is quite annoying because while on the World Map I can see how much fuel is enough for the planned flight, in-world I can’t anymore. Currently what I have to do is actually remember how much fuel I tried to set and re-set it after spawning.
I noticed that if I touch anything on the World Map after setting the fuel/load, like clicking on the Flight Conditions, the Nav Log, or even just any element on the map, the fuel/load value goes back to default. However, this is always the very last thing I set before clicking on “Fly”, and the aircraft still always spawns with 50%.
Why is this? The sim has no problem remembering everything else (livery, call sign, etc), but it always sets the fuel/load values back to default. And I’m not fond of flying planes with this much fuel and barely any load, I usually turn it around (just the needed amount of fuel but much more load, passengers etc).
Is there a way to make the sim keep the requested fuel/load value from the World Map until it loads the actual flight?
I’m not at the pooter right now, but going by memory, isn’t there a setting under realism for unlimited fuel? Maybe the fuel you’re entering isn’t overriding it.
With the default A320neo, this happens to me every single time. With the 787-10 it’s a hit or miss, sometimes it’s good, other times it’s not, and I simply can’t figure out why. I always set up the flights the same way, spawning at a ramp/gate with cold start, so it’s not even that I do something differently.
Yeah, it’s always been like that since launch. No matter how much fuel load you put in the flight plan, you always spawn at 50% in the end, with the CG reset as well.
But since I always need to reset the CG anyway, I just reset the fuel load as well. Just open the Fuel and Payload menu from the toolbar, and adjust the slider again.
Not really a big deal. Although it would be nice to have the sim carry over the fuel and payload and CG setting when spawning the aircraft.
I’m used to it now, once I spawn I open the fuel and payload menu from the toolbar, adjust the fuel and the CG as it was in the world map, and I’m set and good to go. Only take a few seconds to do.
The problem is I can’t find the CG slider in the toolbar menu. There’s the fuel and load (passengers etc) slider but no CG, which is to the right side of the former two on the World Map screen. Where is it on the in-flight menu?
This is all I see after spawning. There is no Center of Gravity menu/slider.
Go to the right of the box edge, and it should be able to extend it…not sure about X-Box. But I will load a flight and see…give me 10 mins lol with loading time.
Ah, good to know. So, adjusting the fuel level should be the last step in the world map before clicking to ‘Fly’. Was also a bit annoying to me. But doing so sounds like a good workaround.
Fuel/weight/weather/time settings have been kind of janky as long as I remember.
It may have got better at some point but after SU5 it has definitely been pretty hit and miss whether you enter the actual sim with the same time/weather/fuel settings you applied in the World Map.
Even within the world map it resets for me, if you set the fuel and then revisit it after doing something else (checking the map or checking call sign for example) the fuel is back at its defaults within seconds of opening that menu item.
Seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to set the program like it is in real life–you start where you parked it last; with the fuel you had when you parked it and if you want to change locations you can. You can also set the fuel load based on where you are going. And get away from this 50% setting of fuel, which for short plays is way too much anyway.
Yeah, I noticed the same the last few days. Most of the times I had the fuel that I set, but yesterday I set it to 90% because I planned a long flight and half an hour later noticed that the plane only had 50% when I took off.
