I’m curious why the end user is not able to change the color of the aircraft?
Depends what you mean. If you install liveries then yes you can select them in game. But if you want to create extra liveries you need to use the SDK. It’s probably more complicated than you think. It’s not just opening up the plane in MS Paint. The rendering uses physically based rendering (PBR) so you need various textures to control all the PBR inputs and deal with vertex mapping.
Hi there. What I meant was the ability to choose from multiple color liveries within the default menu, such as this FSX screen shot here:
Whereas with FS2020, it would appear there’s no choice within each livery, other than what is pictured here. In this case… all the “UPS Planes”, which you only have your choice of brown, mocha, tan, or cafe:
So is there a way around this? Is there a “multiple livery pack” that I didn’t realize that I needed to install on August 18th? Or is this what everyone sees when they go into the aircraft menu?
Thank you for your clarification. Much appreciated.
Thoughts? Ideas? Am I supposed to have the color flexibility in FS2020 that I did in FSX?
Or that is not what the plane chooser menu is supposed to do?
I just don’t know if a feature (allowing for different colors of the same aircraft) failed to install correctly on August 18th.
