Aircraft External Lights barely visible during daytime

Same here, lights are not working

Same here. Both external and cockpit lights not working

Yep, lights look dim. Night lighting is probably one of the most immersive qualities of a sim when flying at night. no lights make it very lame.

It’s terrible, you can’t see the nav lights / strobes at all in the daytime, and barely at night on the Zinn Norden

same for me with all types of aircraft there is no lighting during daytime hours. As it gets dark you see the lights but during daytime you have to trust the switches stating “ON”

I was just flying the A330 and also noticed the lights being pretty much impossible to see in the day. It is very noticeable (or not noticeable depending how you think about it) when you look at the Landing Lights at the top of the nose landing gear. Those lamps are HUGE and in the daytime they look like they are completely off. I think the luminance system needs some tuning to actually makes these lights apparent whether they are on/off in the day time.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

  • Flying Cessna 208B in daytime, cannot see any exterior lights on when looking at the plane from outside.

  • This video may help Asobo identify the problem. Check it out. It shows the tail of the plane and its beacon light. The light itself shows no activity at all, BUT the beacon light’s reflection can be seen on the aircraft.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Better view:

It’s hard to tell, but if you look at the rear view closely, you can see the little LEDs turn red, as if they are trying to become emissive or maybe it’s just part of the “blink” animation, but clearly no light effect is generated in the main view camera, just in the reflection. Pretty funny.

And on the other hand, the beacon illuminates the entire cockpit even though there is a cabin ceiling in the way.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes same issue. Lights are visible only when you get really close to the wing tips or beacons on the fuselage.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• when it gets darker you can start to see the lights casting in the ground even if you don’t see them at the light source.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• nothing more to add than the screenshots or videos already in that thread.

has this been addressed in the SU1 Beta??

Likewise, the daytime appearance of aircraft lighting is WAY too dim. They should not be obnoxiously bright like they were in MSFS but they also shouldn’t be nearly impossible to see, either. Especially the strobes, which should be very bright at all times.

Unfortunately not

Not only the strobes, LED navigation lights are also very bright IRL.

I agree they should be

Struggling to accept the fact that this still isn’t fixed! Surely it’s a simple fix but has quite an impact on immersion.

Yea, all my lights are on and yet you can’t tell that the nav is even on

So the devstream didn’t sound like there is a fix coming anytime soon
