I’ve been trying to figure it out but no way, I have already applied famous 4 steps advised but problem seems to be going on after reaching a spesific waypoint plane is starting to turn right sharply. There is no any discontionus way point, I am not using any addon, basicly its all default setup and the lastest release. Its not possible to perform any proper flight using Autopilot…
I don’t know if it will work for you, but when I have ELAC1, SEC1, FAC1 turned off, those turns do not occur for me. Try it.
ELAC2, SEC2, SEC3, FAC3 should be on.
Edit: I have no idea if my recommendation is among the 4 steps. Never read them.
Unfortunately did not work…
Aircraft is going smoothly on course without any issue its following path and after getting waypoint its not goes next waypoint ? Its always performing right turn with an 90 degree angle and goes somewhere else… This is happening when when engaged autopilot…
Happened to me, I was using Fly by wire A320, so I don’t know is it because mod or it happens with default A320. But after inserting STAR, A320 bank to right, almost 90°, tried to turn off AP, set to manual HDG, last tried DIR than sim crashed. Untill I inserted STAR everything was fine.
I only use default A320, and for the last couple of months she hasn’t been giving me any trouble, except for a couple of times. Besides ELAC, SEC etc, which is probably a coincidence that worked for me, one time that this banking occurred I disengaged autopilot, flew manually for a while, and after 5-10 minutes engaged it again, and it was fine.
Is this a STAR when it happened during approach, where it skips the remaining waypoints in the STAR and it goes straight for the runway? That’s a common issue that can occur to some approaches.
have you tried the FBW? That’s the 320 that you should be flying. One thing that causes turns like that is joystick sensitivities may be too high. Increase the null zone and see if that helps. Otherwise, I really highly recommend that you get the FBW and enjoy the benefits of the mod compared to the default.
Actually, SID or STAR does not matter, it’s happening in any condition .
FBW dynamics are better than default sim aircraft and this situation is also strange but FBW or Default situation is same in my scenerio.
Then I don’t know what else, really… since you said you already done the basic 4 housekeeping steps with the flight model, assists, and control deadzones.
I have decided to reinstall sim. I am assuming if this is a known issue everyone would ask for refund. Will reply if my problem resolves with new installation. Thanks for replies.
My suggestion is, make some screen recordings. Show us that you’ve set up all the settings properly. and do a flight so we can see all the steps you made that would lead to the issue. Think of it like we help you by analysing the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder black boxes.
I have had this happen at least twice with the FBW modded A320 over the past 4 months. Most of the time the aircraft acts normally. But there is no reasoning as to why it occurs. It happens whenever it wants to.
Best of luck, I hope you get up and running soon.
I think problem is not my flight controller. While I am flying smoothly, autopilot turns right or left at next waypoint while its following path no issues… It sounds like a software or FMS problem ? I dont really know, its really frustrating… I has no issues with other simulators since MSFS 2020 this problem occured…
I love the FBW A320, but today it was nearly impossible to fly the developers version. Was kind of fun dealing with all the problems , but I’m going to go back to the solid release tomorrow.
Its really strange, I could fix my problem by taking off HDG selector then activating NAV mode only.
In addition, I have changed “Region” settings, Change System Locale and then disable “Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support”…
If anyone having same exact problems can try those methods.
You weren’t in NAV mode before?
I was in NAV mode before.
I was just not using heading selector on runway and believe its not an obligation. I was taking off smoothly by following takeoff degrees and configuring FMS as required (weight calc, SID Procedure, PERF. etc. ) just after engaging AP it was going directly right turn instead of following waypoint path.
I performed some tests by using heading selector before engaging NAV mode, using HDG selector and AP it followed heading degrees smoothly. Performed another test without heading selector and its also following waypoint and path smoothly.
So problem was not my game controller or heading selector, problem obviously was UTF setting on windows ? I have read it on another form it was effecting D0 D1 entries ?.. I had same unknown waypoints on my FMS and tought maybe this problem effecting my FMS so decided to disable UTF-8 and all issues gone… It was not a controller problem, it was not a because of me…
It seems, region settings were causing some issues on FMS route calculations. Anyway, problem seems to be resolved. Thank you all for replies.
I had this exact same issue yesterday.
A320 FBW mod in heading managed mode following FMS nicely, I saw next waypoint coming up, then all of sudden started banking right - no manual user waypoints or anything to suggest why it was flying that direction. I had to use DIR to next waypoint to get it back on course and in the meantime selected heading mode worked fine.
The only thing I can think of was the plane was not in APPR mode on the perf page of the MCDU, and maybe as a starting point of STAR it wouldnt fly to that fix unless it was enabled?
