Aircraft Suspension and Wheel Traction

I simply love this simulator as I want to see it improve more and more throughout the years.

Today I’m going to talk about the suspension and the wheel traction. The suspension present in some landing gear (of different aircraft) is currently not working as a realistic suspension would. The function of a suspension is to reduce the shock between the vehicle and the ground surface, making the vehicle much more comfortable.

Let’s take an airliner for example. In this sim, when you’re going to land you can feel how rough the current landing gear are as well as it feels very arcade-ish. It’s like you can’t do a normal landing without thinking you’ve just broken your landing gear entirely. So there’s a huge room for improvement in this aspect.

Now talking about the wheel traction, it feels very unrealistic at the moment. At strong winds is when you can mostly feel how the airplane goes sideways only after taking-off but it was perfectly straight before that, like the wind was nonexistent. I’ve done an experiment where I take-off in a crosswind and touch only one wheel in the ground, this one wheel was enough to make me go straight again.

Once the suspension and the wheel traction simulations are improved, this is going to be absolutely outstanding.
