Airplane profiles forget controls profile selected

I configured Rudder, stick, keyboard and controller profiles to a specific aircraft. from one sim boot to the next the aircraft profile forgets the controller profiles I had saved

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
This happens with PC standard and deluxe package aircraft and outside market place aircraft

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Seems intermittent in that it remembers some profiles some of the time but no pattern I can discern. Could be a function of not saving each change 1 at a time or making changes in general and airplane and specific aircraft at the same time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

I can’t get a consistent reproduction of the issue. sometimes it’s fine other times it forgets rudder profiles, other time it’s stick configs.. but seems mainly around the middle of the 3 general, aircraft and airplane specific selections. main Aircraft. I don’t set these as default for all aircraft.

What peripherals are currently plugged in? Please name all of them as there could be a potential conflict.
I use a Turtle Beach Rudder
Authentikit bodnar based stick
wired Keyboard BT Trackball
I’m in VR Quest 3
Honeycomb Bravo Throttle quadrant
Xbox Controller for managing views external.

Today I almost vowed to never play FS2024 again. Today was the third or fourth time in the last 3 days that my keyboard assignments in my personal profile were somehow lost and changed by MS. Add to that, I find the keyboard assignments they give me are less convenient for me and then even then they are different between Career Mode and Free Flight. It takes me about 10 minutes to change everything back to the way I had it in my previous session.

No problem with FS2020 in this regard.

Also the cockpit views that I carefully create and save for each plane so I can easily switch down to the instruments or controls and back out the windscreen quickly, they are never saved from session to session. Add another 5 minutes to setup my views before each and every flight.

FS2020 did this flawlessly.

At least four times this week I have to change the keyboard assignments and cockpit views and save them before flying. Waste of time, and no flying at all sometimes.

I just want to go the airport, load the plane and take off and know that everything will be the same as it was the last time I did so.

And for the record, all this worked just fine in FS2020, never a problem with any of this.

with me it’s every time I fire up the sim. got to go through the assignments each time.

In my case there are two default profiles that I really want to delete but the sim won’t let me. They are “Keyboard 2024 Planes” and “Keyboard 2020 Planes”. If I modify and save changes to the default 2024 profile, they will work in the current session but on the next boot up MS always overwrites them with unwanted settings.

So be sure to create and use your own profile names and I wish I could just delete the default MS profiles.

Still have the issue of cockpit views not being saved.

These are base profiles you can rename/duplicate etc but not delete. like a base template. I think that’s the case, can’t modify base profile like those two without creating a new one renamed something else. If you do change and rename or Duplicate, then rename/name it would be interesting to see if the sim remembers you assigning the new profile next time you launch the sim and that plane. You can set the new profile as default for all or specific planes.

This is a chronic issue for us who work hard in assigning flight control profiles to aircraft.

I have a HC Alpha/Bravo/Velocity Rudders setup.

Two issues still persist,

  1. The past few updates have introduced a problem of the sim to take a long time to switch between controller profiles
  2. The sim deleted all assigned profiles to aircraft with SU2, now if we need to assign profiles we have to cycle through many profiles to get to the one we developed, which in turn takes an impossible amount of time to get to the right saved profile to assign because of no.1 above

Request to please resolve the issues highlighted above.

May I suggest a drop down menu of the list of all controls developed by the user.

the interesting thing is this seems to relate to add-on aircraft more so than aircraft included in 2024. I fly the Flying Irons Spitfire Mk IX 2024 compatible release, and it forgets assignments every time you boot the sim. My Robinson R66 Turbine, included in Sim doesn’t forget.
Either way I’m surprised not more people are experiencing this with add-on aircraft. Please make not of which Aircraft consistently forget hardware profile assignments.

I’m noticing that I loose the assigned profiles when I use the HYPE H145 helicopter add-on, each time I start the sim/game.

SU2 did not solve the problem. It is still forgetting my Spitfire controls profiles selection and in the update it lost my Xbox controller profile too.

I would really like to see the profiles cycle in alphabetic order rather than the current random order. That way I can group profiles by judiciously choosing the profile names, minimizing the number of profiles I have to cycle through to get to the one I want.

I submitted a bug for this same issue yesterday

I think they will eventually take our suggestions and resolve this so let’s keep giving our suggestions.
