Airport representation in Nav display

Hello,

In the past, I recall a generic airport chart when zooming in on the nav display of the Garmin avionics.

Recently, I noticed that this has become some kind of generated ground layout, or, even more useless, an aerial image (I think this happens when an addon scenery is installed). I even saw this in the ND of the B747.

Why has this been done? I mean, what kind of information is in this? Can I reset it to the airport chart display?

Boris

In Map View on Garmin equipped aircraft, the airport is an overhead view that’s based on synthetic renderings of the major features (i.e., runways, taxiways, aprons/ramps). You won’t ever get a true Taxi chart unless you subscribe to Navigraph.

The Garmin feature hasn’t changed in a long while as far as I know. It’s always been like that.

Maybe a screenshot of what you’re seeing so others can confirm it’s nominal?
