AirRhodessa’s PG Hangar — Best Photogrammetry to Fly In Screenshot Submissions

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

I’ve created this topic for community screenshot submissions for AirRhodessa’s PG Hangar.

:globe_with_meridians: Website: https://www.fspghangar.com

PG Hangar is a community-focused guide to photogrammetry and detailed scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It helps simmers discover the best PG cities, National Parks, Scenic Hi-Res AOIs, Official POIs, handcrafted airports and other memorable places to explore in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.

:camera_with_flash: How to contribute

If you capture a screenshot that shows a location particularly well, please feel free to post it here.

Selected screenshots may be added to the PG Hangar website, including location cards, galleries, the PG Explorer Map and The Hangar’s Community Screenshots library.

Screenshots are currently welcome for:

  • Rated PG Cities
  • Tiny PG Cities of the USA
  • Tiny PG Cities of the World
  • National Parks and Scenic Hi-Res AOIs
  • Official Microsoft/Asobo POIs
  • Microsoft/Asobo Handcrafted Airports
  • Sporting Venues
  • Gold Standard and Mega Cities
  • New World Update and City Update locations
  • Any impressive PG area that makes you think: “People need to fly here!”

Extra screenshots are still welcome even when a location already has a gallery. Different viewpoints, altitudes, weather conditions, approaches and times of day can all help show a location at its best.

:memo: Please include

When posting, please provide as much of the following information as possible:

  • Location name
  • City, country or state where needed
  • Whether it was captured in MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024
  • Whether add-ons were being used
  • A nearby airport or useful starting point
  • A short description of what the screenshot shows
  • The name or forum username you would like credited

Please also add the appropriate msfs-2020 or msfs-2024 tag to your post.

For PG Cities, one or two clear JPG screenshots is often enough. Ideally, it should show the city nicely from the air and give visitors a useful preview of what the photogrammetry looks like in the simulator.

:sparkles: Screenshot tips

  • Clean scenic screenshots work best
  • Please hide menus and simulator UI where possible
  • Try to show the location or PG coverage clearly
  • Skylines, rivers, bridges, mountains, approaches and landmarks are all welcome
  • Interesting lighting, weather and times of day can add variety
  • Please post a maximum of 10 screenshots per post, in line with forum guidelines

:snow_capped_mountain: Priority locations still needing more screenshots

The following locations currently have only one screenshot and would especially benefit from additional images.

:united_states: WU22 National Parks

  • Death Valley National Park
  • Glacier National Park
  • Great Sand Dunes National Park
  • Kings Canyon National Park
  • Mesa Verde National Park
  • Olympic National Park
  • Petrified Forest National Park
  • Pinnacles National Park
  • Redwood National Park
  • Saguaro National Park
  • Wind Cave National Park

:globe_showing_europe_africa: International parks and scenic areas

  • Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand
  • Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France
  • Chubu-Sangaku National Park, Japan
  • The Dolomites, Italy
  • Écrins National Park, France
  • Lucerne and Lake Constance, Switzerland and Austria
  • Triglavski National Park, Slovenia
  • Verdon Gorges, France

Please don’t worry if a location already appears elsewhere in this topic. Additional screenshots can still be useful, although completely new locations and galleries are currently the biggest help.

:white_check_mark: Permission and credit

By posting screenshots in this topic, you are confirming that selected images may be considered for use on the PG Hangar website.

Every accepted screenshot will remain credited to its contributor wherever possible. Please only submit screenshots that you captured yourself and are happy to share for this purpose.

Not every image will necessarily be used, but reactions and likes from the community will help show which screenshots people enjoy most.

Please note: This thread is marked as Solved so the accepted-answer post can be used as a clear, up-to-date checklist of the requested screenshots that have already been completed. That post will continue to be updated whenever further screenshot requests are fulfilled.

A huge thank-you to everyone who has already helped build the galleries. Your contributions have made a massive difference and have helped turn PG Hangar into a much more visual, useful and community-powered resource. :airplane::snow_capped_mountain::camera_with_flash:

Grand Teton National Park (msfs 2024)

Grand Teton National Park (msfs 2024)

Wow John, these are absolutely stunning — thank you mate :+1:

That is more than enough for Grand Teton National Park, so I can happily tick that one off the list now. There are some brilliant shots in there and definitely plenty I’ll be able to use for the future PG Hangar gallery feature.

Really appreciate you taking the time to do these. This is exactly the kind of thing that will help make the National Parks pages and Explorer Map galleries feel much more alive.

Grand Canyon (msfs 2024)

Grand Canyon (msfs 2024)

John, you are an absolute legend mate — thank you! :+1:

I’ve just seen the Grand Canyon screenshots coming through and they look fantastic. That’s another big one ticked off the list now, because there should be more than enough there for me to choose from for the future PG Hangar gallery.

Really appreciate you taking the time to do these. Between Grand Teton and Grand Canyon, this gallery idea is already starting to feel very real.

Quick update everyone :+1:

The first community screenshot gallery is now live on PG Hangar!

Grand Teton National Park now has a proper screenshot gallery on both the PG Explorer Map and the Combined Lists National Parks section.

Huge thanks to @johnwhite92 for providing the screenshots — they were absolutely stunning and made Grand Teton the perfect first test for this new gallery feature.

This is exactly what the screenshot submissions topic was created for: helping showcase the best photogrammetry and scenic areas to fly in.

More galleries will be added gradually as screenshots come in and as I continue testing/rating the National Parks and scenic areas.

Thanks again everyone — this is already starting to make PG Hangar feel even more alive.

Impeccable… the gallery system looks great. Well done.

Thanks John, really appreciate you posting that :+1:

It’s great for people to actually see what the gallery system looks like in action. Your Grand Teton screenshots made it the perfect first test, and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.

Grand Canyon will be next once I get chance to upload and add the selected screenshots.

Joshua Tree National Park (msfs 2024)

Joshua Tree National Park (msfs 2024)

Lake Quinault Lodge (POI)

Fantastic flight over Arches NP. TThe arches themselves are really well done, the light casts the appropriate shadow through them, amazing. The surrounding terrain is really top quality; I think it may be heading for a HIOOTP! See what you think.
This is a place I’ve always wanted to visit in real life, but am unlikely to! It’s not quite the same, but it’s close; particularly in VR.

Quick gallery update everyone :+1:

A few more community screenshot galleries have now been added to PG Hangar.

The screenshot galleries currently live are:

:national_park: Grand Teton National Park
:desert: Grand Canyon National Park
:cactus: Joshua Tree National Park
:canoe: Lake Quinault Lodge POI

These galleries can be viewed from the PG Explorer Map, and the National Park galleries are also available from the Combined Lists National Parks section.

Huge thanks again to @johnwhite92 for providing the screenshots. They’ve been absolutely brilliant and have helped get this new feature moving much quicker than I expected.

Also, huge thanks to @hairstreak62 for the stunning Arches National Park screenshots. They look absolutely fantastic, and from what you’ve said, Arches may well be heading towards a Hitting it out of the Park Award — I’ll definitely be checking that one closely.

The idea is to gradually build up galleries for selected showcase locations — mainly National Parks, Scenic Hi-Res AOIs, Gold Standard cities, Mega Cities and future World Update / City Update areas.

Not every location will get a gallery, but the best scenic areas definitely deserve one.

Thanks again to everyone supporting the screenshot submissions idea — it’s already starting to make PG Hangar feel much more alive.

Crowd-sourcing in action lol

Well, a crowd of “1” at least!

Good job @johnwhite92 - your screenshots are top notch :+1:
