Hi folks, a while ago I started a topic because I was afraid that we’d be back to the early days of 2020 where, dependent on NavBlue, the navdata was pretty sparse. Busy GA airports didn’t have any semblance of their approach and departure charts etc.
Well, I finally was able to install 2024, and, sure enough, once again, KASH is a barren airport. KASH, a Class D airport with a 7am - 9pm 7 day a week manned tower and a very busy airport, doesn’t even know it has a tower, and has neither LIDO or FAA charts associated with it. In the current navdata, it’s got two RNAV and an ILS LOC approach, nothing doing in the sim. (It used to have lots more with a local NDB and VOR, but, all that is gone now sadly)
Is this just because they haven’t gotten the NavData fully integrated in the sim? Or, are they only going to install the FAA charts that LIDO calls for, essentially nullifying the gain we had of having FAA charts available?
Thanks for any answers!

Try flying outside the US, especially South East Asia. They mixed up the tower frequencies of those of Control/Centers making those aerodromes very inaccurate.

KCVG to KIAH
Flown it dozens of times in the longitude. Set it up as I alwys have. Get within 50 miles and it decides to follow…something…I have no idea what. So I go to manual, ALT hold, HDG hold, reprogram, set my course in the general direction, Get back on NAV hit the autopilot…does another 180
That sounds like an autopilot issue, as opposed to a navdata issue, or, is it losing itself as it switches to another VOR or when it’s trying to switch to an approach procedure? IOW, what does the AP getting lost have to do with correct navdata?
Are you following airways? If you had setup a flight plan, I’m assuming you were able to set it up?
What I’m discussing here is that data is missing. My question is this what it’s going to be, or will it improve with an update someday?
I have more research to do, but, KASH not having a tower, and it’s not an isolated incident as noted by @Zeke12587 above, is a pretty big miss. 2020 was the same for about 6 months to a year. KASH for example, did eventually get its procedures.
I still have the navdata I added when I redid the airport last time, so I can add it back in, assuming they’re still using the same format. Nice thing is there’s only 3 procedures now, instead of the 6 or 7 there used to be.
Not KASH…KIAH and yes it has a tower, I live about 5 miles from it.
Yes I set up a flightplan, everyting with the navdata looks correct.
The longititude is pretty hard to mess up compaired to a 37,87,380.
Yeah, so, that’s an AP problem, not the Navdata issue I’m talking about here. My issue is that navdata is actually missing from the sim, and airports, that were correct in 2020 (after waiting about a year for them to be corrected, though originally KASH at least had a tower in 2020 from the start), are misconfigured in 2024.
