ALL Freelance Missions Crash: Error Code 308-400-00209

Same error here, also on every freelance flight. Usually half way, doesn’t matter if it is 2h flight or 45min flight.

PD: they do need to show the sim rate on screen.

Edit: Now I still getting this errors, but the even happen right after the mission loads.

Never got that error the last days, however, got it today five times in a row, not able any more to do any freelance mission

happen again

This should be merged with Unexpected error during charter career: 308-400-00207 Not the same code but the same thing.

3 Missions in a row crashed out with this error code. Was playing (mostly) fine all last night. Errors have still happened to me plenty all week long but I can’t finish a single mission.

Yesterday, I started using the sim-rate function to dramatically speed up my flights. Apart from autopilot bugging out here and there and having to do my landings twice because the ATC/Mission steps don’t register correctly at those speeds sometimes it wasn’t a big problem. However, I learned that repair/add fuel button exists and functions in game. I bound repair and refuel and add fuel and now that I’m using those, I’m crashing right after initial climb or second climb after the first check point. I’m going to keep testing to see if any of these things are causing the problems because I’ve seen a few here mention simrate and fueling.

EDIT:

The same mission that crashed out on my 3 times in a row was just completed without issue in the C172. Details below. The only variable I changed on this attempt was removing repair and refuel.

Career Mode: Light Cargo Company
Cessna 172
KJTC to 00C
Add Fuel 25% prior to skipping taxi to take-off
Max Simrate applied after initial climb.
AP/NAV Mode and Altitude Hold/FLC on.
Also used the better weather “glitch” to get less wind(worked good, only 5-6kt headwind instead of the 20-30 I’ve been dealing with.

I don’t think there is any other important information to note. I think either the repair and refuel keybind was causing the issue or using both repair and refuel and add fuel are bugged. Either way, unbinding repair and refuel worked for me. If I have other issues again, I will add another edit.

Edit 2: Even though I toggled live weather for the better weather glitch, I still rewound the slider on the map to non-live weather. Just in case that matters.

I’m getting this error only on the bonanza g36. The 172 had been very reliable.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Exactly the same - Cessna 172 Cargo Freelance mission.

Lots of people posting errors but only 12 votes.

Just saying.

• Yes; repeatedly (4x) on VIP Cessna 172 freelance mission (Germany->France).

• Occurred both with/without sim rate adjustment and live weather time adjustment. Xbox Series X

I’ve been getting it on the last 5 missions. One of them was as I turned the engine off after landing and taxiing to the parking spot. Has Microsoft actually ever given a solution for any issue though? Seems like any issue I find, other people have it too, but no one ever has an actual fix for it. Seems we’re left to ourselves and a case of ‘tough luck man’ from Microsoft.

I had one too today during a freelance mission.

Thats exactly the case. We will have to wait until Dec 9 and hope its one of the fixes.

I think you’re right - its the Repair & Refuel element which is causing the issue.

The sim seems to almost reload itself as a ‘state’ at various points in the mission. For instance, I took off (after a Repair and Refuel) and at the first waypoint suddenly my OBS went from GPS to VOR mode (well, pink to green, you know what I mean - sure my terminology is wrong) and, moments after, crashed with the same error code. Almost like it’s reloading, finding the plane in a different expected state, and not being able to handle the difference. This occurred 3x in a row.

Then, I did the very same mission but without hitting Repair & Refuel and - firstly - the NAV mode didn’t flip, but it also didn’t crash; was able to successfully complete it.

• Every Freelance mission now I get this code. I have only been able to complete one mission.

I have not had this error at all until today. I got it 4 straight times on a freelance mission. On all 4 previous times I used the “repair and refuel” or “refuel” option before taking off to get enough fuel to complete the mission. I am currently almost done with the same mission and did not use the refuel before taking off. But now I am afraid to add any and I don’t have enough to complete the mission.

Edit: I had enough fuel to make it and I did not get an error. It seems like, for me at least, it is tied to the adding fuel during the flight.

Refuel and Repair seems to be my issue too. It crashed every time, and I just got through one without issue.

Possible Workaround
For me this error have come often. I like to do long missions and because its not possible to set how mutch fuel vs cargo you should hold, and the career mode dont let you land and refuel on airports on the way, some missions is not possible to do without refuel and repair as of today.

After a lot of time and unexpeted errors :frowning: for me its like this:
Any mission where the fuel should run out will cause the unexpeted error if I have used the repair and refult function. It will error the exact time the fuel tank is empty. So I think the career mode thinks the tank is empty, but the plane thinks it has fuel and the game mission crashes. If not uising the repari and refuel the plane engine just stops without any error just as it should.

To fix it (for me works every time both in C172 and Grand Caravan)

  1. Bind Repair and Refuel function to what key you prefeer.
  2. Accept mission and do every step in the mission start until you jump inside the plane (do the external check)
  3. When inside the plane wait at least 2-3 seconds and then press Repair and Refuel (You should se your tank gets 95 - 99% fuel
  4. Wait 2-3 seconds and then press Escape and choose Restart Mission
  5. Mission will restart without reloading, and you now should have 91 to 97% fuel and you can do the mission without any error.
  6. For this to work you need to have the money to pay for all the fuel, you dont loose any money but you need to hav ethe money to pay for the fuel.

Hope this helps some others and feel free to tell what planes it works for in the comments

Same error for me today on xbox SX

This doesn’t work for me in the Bonanza. It restarts with no fuel. I haven’t tried in other aircraft. I sold the TBM thinking this error was related to that airplane… much worse in the G36. I can’t even get a few miles from the airport. It always starts with 0 fuel.
