1st, 2nd and 3rd party aircraft with a G1000 will play the “TAWS System Test OK” aural announcement prior to any power being turned on.
Load C&D into any G1000 and wait ~27 seconds. You will hear the announcement.
Yes, I see the same. Also the softkeys are alive as well despite the units are off.

I’ve been doing some testing, which has had me spawning in the air on approach to an airport.
I’m finding that the TAWS annunciation is playing upon powering down the avionics. There must be something in the act of spawning with an aircraft already running that is influencing this.
I first noted this in the 172.
