ALL iniBuils-Airbus-Aircrafts: AI override in Cursor Mode

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: so I just flew the A320 for the first time, and noticed an issue I would consider critical. I am on the PS5 Pro and I have the Aviator Edition.

So the critical issue is regarding the Cursor Mode. When the autopilot is active, Cursor Mode overrides the autopilot controls with both the throttle and flight control surfaces. I would consider this to be a major issue for console users as Cursor Mode is the only way to use certain features (radios, EFB, custom weather, etc.)

One thing I do want to note is it seems this issue only occurs when you spawn in the cold-and-dark state. I loaded a flight with the plane midair, and this issue did not occur.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you: 2 out of 3 flights done with A320

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. load a flight, starting from cold-and-dark

  2. Prep plane and take off

  3. Activate autopilot

  4. enter cursor mode and then observe engine output and flight control surfaces

I am curious, will buying an external mouse help navigate around the cockpit and use Cursor Mode menus without having to enter Cursor Mode?

Yeah. Its the same for me. All the time cursor mode overrides throttle when autopilot is active.

Quick update on this, this seems to be a random glitch. I’m currently climbing out of KSEA with the autopilot on, and there is no control issue when using Cursor Mode.

I have the autopilot in Managed Mode. Could this be a contributing factor?

Another update on this issue: I just completed my flight from KSEA-KPHX and didn’t experience any control issues with cursor mode. I disabled all additional assistances in the settings menu and also had the autopilot in Managed Mode until the descent and approach phases of the flight.

I’m now about to take the A320 from Phoenix to Charlotte and see what happens.

I’m en-route to Charlotte, still with all of the AI assistances turned off in the settings, and there hasn’t been a single issue so far.

Just bought an A330-200 in career mode without realizing this plane has glitches with cursor mode. Spent a couple weeks to save 200,000,000 credits to only realize that I wasted time for a plane uncontrollable. I see other guys using mouse and keyboard to fly but that doesn’t make sense for me on Xbox series X. It’s been over a year since its release and yet cannot believe there are glitches like this haven’t fixed still.

I’m just flying A320-Neo from inBuild on Playstation 5 with autopilot in managed mode

The issue wirh cursor mode is the same as described. On activating cursor mode, the throttle is overridden and out of control. You can even hear that at once very clear.

When leaving cursor mode, control of throttle is recovered, clearly hearable! This is not a random evnt, it can be repeated.

Can confirm. Same for the other airbusses for me (seen in 321 and 330). Even with auto pilot on, the cursormode bug (some AI intervention) takes over and messes up the whole flight.

This insane. When will this Cursormode AI be deactivated finally? It’s useless and messes up every flight.

This is tied to this iasue: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ai-pilot-engages-in-cursor-mode-and-messes-up-flight Please vote for it and contribute to it.

On all other planes you can use cursormode when on AP. But not in the airbusses. They freak out, disconnect the AP, change throttle etc.

Right now the airbuses are unflyable on console (PS5). WE PAID for them!

And no… I don’t want to play with mouse and keyboard on console. This is way I bought it for console and not for PC.

The game must be fully playable with the console hardware itself, which means: Controller and Cursormode !!!

@CyclicRoom8326 : could you confirm it is the same issue than the report mentioned above by @Arzgebirg1679 ?: AI "Pilot" Engages in Cursor Mode and Messes Up Flight

Hi everyone, I’ve been facing the same issue, especially with the Airbus family (A320, A321, etc.). Yesterday, while checking the assistance settings, I noticed that the copilot’s automatic ATC response option for free flights was enabled. I turned it off just to test it, and I noticed that on the next two flights I did, the “bug” didn’t happen. I haven’t tested it enough yet, but it might be worth trying. I suggest disabling as many assists as possible. It’s worked for me, and I had the exact same problem. Xbox Series X here.

Xbox series x here. It’s same for entire airbus planes. And the cursor isn’t even properly aligned to where it’s supposed to click either.

Tried disabling atc autoanswering. Does not fix it for me, sorry.

High, everyone

I have to this point tested the issue with the cursor-mode malfunction extensively.

Planes with the issue: Every iniBuilds-AIRBUSES, from 319 to A 330, incl. A400-M

It makes no difference, if you start from cold&dark or form runway, its allways the same.

It makes no difference, what options(Copilot, whatever) are in use.

NO other planes(I’ve test de many of them , seem to be affected, even another Airbus, NOT from iniBuilds, the „BELUGA“ is NOT affected!!

Even other iniBuilds-products i.e. the ANTONOV, are NOT affected!

For me, after all my test, is obvious and very clear: Only iniBuilds-planes, and only AIRBUS-Planes, but all of them!!!, have this very annoying issue fĂĽr every console-user!!!

I find the iniBuilds-Airbusses are very handsom planes, but right now they are practically unusuable!

How can we afford, that this can finally be fixed???

A very disappointed PS5-user

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

When operating in cursor mode (PS5), moving the cursor occasionally also triggers movement of the side-stick. This unintended input causes the Airbus A320 autopilot to disengage. The issue is most noticeable when interacting with the MCDU.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Occurs intermittently, most often while looking at or configuring the MCDU in flight.

Can replicate the issue. Same for moving the camera around. Drives me insane sometimes.

This applies also to other planes… e.g. it can be observed in the 737 Max as well. While operating some cockpitbuttons and panning around the camera it threw the whole jet to the side, disabled the AP and was hard to recover.

Happens the same in Xbox series X.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Affected Aircraft: Every aircraft from make „AIRBUS“, as far ist from“iniBuilds“-, that is: from A 310, A320, A321, A 330, A400-Mit

When InFlight, switching CURSOR-MODE by PS5-Controller, , standard control-setting in PS5:„R1-L3“ to „ON“, for example, to change settings in instruments, o.a., the aircraft gets out of control. That means: without any manual or Autopilot-based influenece the rotation of the jet-engines is dramatially reduced or accelerated, the aircraft looses or gaines altitude , and more. When turning off cursor-mode „OFF“ again, it takes a lot of time, until the aircraft-functions get back to their normal function, sometimes, they don’t at all.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time when using the above mentioned aircraft and switching on/off cursor-mode

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Simply take-off with a iniBuilds-Airbus 310 to 330 to M400

  2. when inFlight, switch to cursor-mode - by PS5-standard-controller, cursor changes to a circle, you can move it precisely with the left stick, evrything okay

  3. then you will siudenly notice a string effect on the aircraft-system. Without any influence, manual or by autopolt, sudenly the rotation of the jet.engines changes, mostly it is dramatically rediced, but can be accelerated as well, you can clearly hear that chanig sound of the turbines, As a reaction, the whole aircraft gets out of control, there are are warning-lights in the frint cocpit, and also in the ecam, for example “overspeed”, and other.

  4. if you switch-off the cursor mode again, control is slowly regained, but it takes a couple of time, until the rotation of the jet-streams returns to normal, too low or to high altitude must be correced. and so on

  5. In the current state the cursor-mode in the above iniBuilds-airbus-aircraft, and ONLY in them, is unusable. And the cursor-mode of the PS5-controller is such a handsome tool to precisely interact with all the cokpit-switches and instruments.

  6. I have used many other aisrcrafts in MFS 2024 on playstation since december 2024, and in NO OTHER aircraft i have noticed any issues with the cursor-mode.

  7. I think, it must be possible, to make cursor-mode work also in the above mentioned aircraft from inBuilds, which, in my opinion, are really great aircraft and I really like to fly.

  8. Many thanks in advance

  9. Greetings from germany
