All my AI jets are labeled as GEN and are all GA

Hi there. Its probably something silly I have missed, but all my Live AI aircraft (737/A320’s) appear as GA aircraft and are labeled as GEN. I have Live traffic on, Generic AI traffic turned on in the options, and I am using IVAO AI aircraft in the community folder and Ground traffic aircraft set to zero.

Is there any obvious things I should check?

Many thanks!

Turn off Generic AI Traffic Models, and optionally increase the Variety setting. Theoretically this should start using the full availability of AI traffic aircraft models and stop labelling them as Generic.

Also, make sure you have Airliner Traffic Slider at same or greater than setting then GA Traffic. That should make tubeliners appear.

I don’t know what effect the Liveries will have.

Thanks CC, Ill try that bfore it does my head in!

No sadly that didnt work. Do you need a layout and manifest.json file in your community folder or only in the folders deeper than that? Thanks

For custom Liveries? Unfortunately I do not know. I suspect the JSON file should be directly below the Folder Name holding the entire Mod or Livery, but that’s just conjecture based on seeing other Mods over time.

Isn’t airliner traffic slider and GA traffic slider only enabled if you’re on Offline AI traffic, and it will be disabled if you’re on Real-Live traffic?

Yes this is correct. I took everything out of my Community folder and then re-added just the IVAO AI models, but still a QF737 or Jetstar A320 displays as GEN and a little GA aircraft. Its the same with Turn generic AI aircraft off or on in the options…Just so over it, so going to give live traffic a BIG miss and start working on AI OFFLINE mode and start building flight plans with the new AIFP, just like in the FSX/P3D days

Airliners being represented as GA aircraft has been a problem since the alpha version.

I just decompiled the base traffic.bgl (for offline AI) in AIFP, and some flights from say Perth to Sydney are done by GA!! What hope have you got, LoL The only good thing about that is Gates 51 to Gates 56, from memory, are listed as GA Gates @ Perth, which is incorrect (They have airbridges) so you get the Beechcraft Baron, waiting to pick up 186 pax for a flight to Sydney.

Is there a way you can re-size/re-name gates, like you could in FSX/P3D?

You can do it using the developer mode tool.

Ah OK, thanks. I’ll investigate that when I get home, as the whole airport (YPPH) is basically wrong by the looks of it

If you managed to fix it, feel free to package that as a mod and share it to flightsim.to. I’m sure most Perthians like myself would appreciate an improved YPPH.

I certainly will if I can work out how to change the gates/names. Happy to try it myself, but if any other Perthians are familiar with the developer tool (I’m not, LoL) they may be able to chime in here
