Allow browser windows in EFB

The EFB is really helpful especially since I only fly in VR. Being able to access charts especially is great.

However, there are always things I would like to have in cockpit with me from the predictable like Google Maps, or SkyVector, to the specialized like Stellarium for night flights. If we could open browser tabs in the EFB, that would be great especially if multiple tabs were possible.

This would unfortunately not be possible to implement. While Coherent GT, the third party HTML/JS technology stack used by the sim, is technically browser (WebKit) based, it is also not a complete set of browser technologies in order to make it performant enough for a real-time game environment.

As such it doesn’t have a lot of modern browser features which are required by websites today, as it is not intended or designed to be a general purpose web browser.

Crud.

Would there be a way for enterprising individuals to create individual apps for the EFB that scrape relevant information from certain websites and represent said data in a way that is compatible with the limited abilities of the EFB?

Already being done with simbrief. So yes
