Allow Replay in Career Mode

Please allow the use of the FCR function in Career Mode.

This certainly sucks because I want to go back and view all of my landings. However, I believe this is by design to not allow the replay system. I can certainly understand the decision. With the replay system as it currently functions, it allows you to go back and redo a procedure. So if you messed up and got dinged for not responding, calling ATC, etc, you could simply bypass that with replay by rewinding and starting from that point again without making the mistake.

With that being said, they should be able to set limitations or rules for how the replay system can function while in Career mode. Disable everything with the exception of the record and save, and then the replay is only reviewable after your career mission has ended.

But like I said, if this is the actual reason for why replay isn’t enabled for Career, it makes sense and I can understand the decision. But we do need to be able to go back and replay our landings after the mission has ended.

Asobo needs to find a workaround for that. I find it frustrating that I can’t watch replays in career mode as this is my go to game mode.

In two words; so what?

I really don’t understand the logic on all the career mode lock downs “to prevent cheating” when it is a SINGLE PLAYER experience. If you choose to cheat, you are only cheating yourself. You win nothing. There isn’t even a leaderboard that I’m aware of.

Your career mode exists for one person, you. So who vcares what you do?

Probably some jealous people, and maybe Microsoft because they want to sell you booster packs later down the road.

They could have us save a replay file from Career that is only visible from a Replay Director type page as a workaround. This would allow us career replays without compromising the anticheat tactics.

Honestly having the Flight recorder recording missions could offer a benefit as well, for missions that bug out, or crash for what ever reason. the flight recorder data could be used to “restart mission” at last known good spot, to complete mission. I’m sick of getting no pay on 3 hour long missions that bug out in the last 10-15 mins.

The whole reason for “Career” mode was to keep you engaged by creating “Quests” to run. so it’s not just a pure, hmmm where do i want to pretend to fly to today. it helps with long term retention and replay ability.

Frankly the mission list needs a filter button to show only missions that meet criteria. i.e. IFR enabled airports, weather conditions, payout size, range, etc.

I’m tired of missions that fly me to an artificial airport that is some artifact from a satellite image. it’s gotten to the point where i have to pre scout the destination air port on each mission before i accept to make sure. “Trees” and Other objects are not blocking runways or taxiways.

anyway, my point is. Flight Recorder could be used to help backstop some of the “bugs” and reward pilots for partial completion of objectives, etc.

Good point, but I’d rather see them fix the bugs…

I kind of understand why FCR is not available in career missions, as it would enable you to replay/redo parts of a flight and negate failures or mistakes I guess.

But I really would love to be able to record and view my landings all the same. I would love a feature where missions automatically record from final to taxi, so I could review and see the landing.

Hope it isn’t just me who would love to see this?

We really need a way to replay at least the last few minutes before a crash, without being able to influence the mission in any way. I just had a cargo flight, my PC-12 was in stable cruise at FL190, so I had my eyes away from the screen for a few minutes. Suddenly I got a blaring “Envelope!” call, my plane was upside down, and I had no chance righting it with the ailerons. I don’t think it was a stall situation, as the speed was already in the yellow, and a few seconds later I got an overspeed penalty and the plane crashed. That flight was already bugged from the beginning: after engine startup I got a short “Engine Np” message (after Np was already out of the yellow), my parking spot was blocked from the taxiway by trees and boulders so I had to skip taxi (which I normally don’t do), giving full throttle for takeoff I got “No takeoff” (maybe because I had full flaps for short field takeoff - I only had a 585m grass runway with trees at the end), and mid climb the autopilot just decided to deactivate itself (I could just reactivate it). So I really would like to know what happened there, because back in my company I did a maintenance check on the aircraft and everything is still in top condition (except for the tires, but I doubt they caused the crash mid-air  ), so time and reputation loss is all I got from that mission.
