What is the best way to passively earn the most money in proportion to the money you have spent in MSFS career mode? Well right now it is to spend all your money on Cessna 172’s (crew on), idle a mission for as long as possible (not at 00:00 UTC), complete the mission and then earn your cash on the next day. This is because bigger planes like the 737 do not earn nowhere near as much then the same number of Cessna 172’s you bought for the same price.
Cessna 172 costs 540,000 for new 15000 passive income per hour (VIP)
737 costs 99,000,000 for new 650000 passive income per hour
You can buy about 185 Cessnas for each 737 but 15000x185 is way more than 650000 (2.75mil)*
This can be really annoying because you can’t buy multiple new aircraft of the same model at the same time you must go through the 1-2min process for EACH plane, suggest I had 100mil in the bank, that is 185 Cessnas but it would take around 3-5 hours to buy all of them. If you could just have a box to specify the number you want it would be much easier and a much more satisfying experience, airlines in real life bulk buy so why can’t we?
Also regarding the calculation it is obvious Cessnas are the best way for passive income, this is really annoying since i’m sure anyone would rather have a fleet of 30 737’s instead of thousands of Cessnas but since it is more cost effective to buy the small plane lots of people (like me) have gotten annoyed that having a worldwide 737 fleet can sometimes net LOSE you money since the passive payout is quite low and maintenance can sometimes take up that small profit.
A way to fix this is to make a system where passive payout per hour is proportional to the price of the aircraft. For example if plane A costs 1mil and earns 25,000 per hour passively then plane B which costs 20mil should earn 500,000 per hour passively. Of course the payouts would be changed to make passive income not too overpowered. This could mean when MSFS eventually allows access to planes like the 747 players can enjoy acting like the CEO of a big airline like British Airways or Delta instead of playing ecommonically smart but unsatisfyingly by buying thousands of Cessnas which is not at all realistic.
Some players like me are stuck at the point where we can buy 737’s but don’t really want too since there is a risk of losing money. Making big jets economically viable would advance the games realism (since the common rule is that the more seats the more profit per person) and contribute to career being funner since people can build worldwide companies and act like big airlines in real life.
I’m not saying you can’t make money using 737 passive income alone but I’m stating that a proportional system (or something to that affect) would make progressing in the late stages of career faster and more satisfying.
Changing checkup costs and maintenance costs to be proportional would also make big jets fairer to play although that is a minor issue.
Making worldwide jet airlines more easy to achieve would turn career into an interactive real world realistic flying game while also making it more simulation realistic which is a combination of the 2 best game themes I love most.
* I got my numbers from the internet so feel free to correct my ruff calculations
