I think the new POIs around Oahu look nice but very sad to see the same low-res ground textures. The elevation data does look more more natural though, which is nice.
PSA for anyone using the otherwise-excellent Seafront Simulations Hawaiian Vessels, package: the new default USS Missouri conflicts and both are displayed. I am going to uninstall that pack until it is updated.
Speaking for myself, Iām less interested in the cities and more in the satellite imagery for the volcanos, mountains, slopes and valleys. Have they been improved?
I did a little before and after video comparison of the World Update 13 impact on Oahuās Pearl Harbor area. Frankly, I think most of the difference is in the POIās. I donāt really see any major improvements elsewhere.
I am curious to know what others think.
Iām planning on making my way around each island one by one and checking out the differences. so far Iāve flown around Kauai and I can tell the DEM and ortho imagery is improved. the mountains and valleys look pretty good. heading to Oahu next
They have done nothing to the aerial on any of the island as far as I can tell. Since I do all my MSFS flying in Hawaii I have looked much into exactly where the spots of autogen scenery replace the aerial scener and those spots are exactly the same. Apparently they never got hold of any new aerial data for Hawaii for this World update.
Yeah improved DEM as far as I can tell as well as the POIs and Kona airport but thats about it. I was quite dissapointed after the update. Had big hopes fir Hawaii
We are aware and prioritising an update. We are also seeking clarification of why the guns are allowed on the WU but not third party Marketplace addons.
same, i have all Norther Sky Studio and South Oak addons for MSFS and so far they seem good (i even reached out to south oak support and they confirmed)
However, FreakyD has updated his own area scenery to coexist with this one and improves much of the surrounding area as well. I have not used the two together myself, however, and certainly not since the recent World Update.
