So I’ve learned to not use Alt F4 to close the sim anymore. You lose your flying time credit and the flight in the logbook.

to get the hours in the log book you need to shut the aircraft down fully then the menu pops up asking you to Contine, Return to main menu etc etc only when that screen has popped up does it gurantee the hours are logged in the log book.
Then you can close down anyway you want
