Hi everybody,
this is my first post here in this forum.
So first of all sorry, if there is sth. wrong with the settings or the hashtags ect.
After sim update 7 I realized that the altimeter is about 50 - 100ft too high when using live weather and the QNH is set to the value shown in METAR (or press B for setting it automatically like in fs9)
When set the weather to clear sky the value changes to 1013 and the correct altitude is indicated.
Checked the QNH with Dusseldorf | SKYbrary Aviation Safety
As soon as i created 2 screenshots the effect is not that huge anymore but it has been around 100ft difference yesterday and early this day. I am at EDDL 23L which is supposed to be at about 147ft.
Are you on Steam or Microsoft Store version?
Steam
Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?
No
Brief description of the issue:
Pressing ‘B’ was a shortcut to setting the altimeter subscale to surface pressure. Prior to SU7 this gave you airfield elevation and was consistently accurate. Post SU7, it results in an elevation which seems to be too high by approximately 80 feet (3 hectopascals/0.09 inches Hg).
Checked this at five airfields in the UK and the same, inflated, discrepancy is found in all those cases.
Also in Nebarska, today. Real weather on. Field elevation was 1200ft, but even lowering baro pressure to end scale, gauge altitude was 1400. I was flying the native TBM, since the improvement mod has issues after the last SU.
Happend to me aswell yesterday on a flight from KAST to KONP in JF Warrior II. I auto-adjusted the altimeter using the B key and got ~4480ft on the steamgauge altimeter and 4296ft on the GNS430, which is consistent with the value I got from VATspy.
The discrepancy vanishes as soon as live weather is turned off.
still have this bug. what about you?
Hey. Please upvote the following thread since it has more votes already.
Incorrect Altimeter Readout
This seems to be fixed in SU8. At least with SU8 beta it is fixed.
