Altimeter is incorrect at start of flight lessons

Has anyone noticed that the altimeter is off by about 1000 feet at the start of the flight lessons and slowly catches up to the actual altitude in the lessons of 6000ft?

This is really annoying because it is preventing me from earning an ‘A’ on the lessons because the instructor tells me I did not keep a constant altitude WHEN I ACTUALLY DID.

Please fix this Asobo with another hotfix.

Please thumbs up so that they will see this!

Have you trird setting the altimeter by depressing B for barometer on your keyboard?

Hi.

I noticed the same behaviour with the flight lessons :frowning:

I tried to press “B” but this had no effect.

The altimeter slowly winds to the correct field elevation while the instructor speaks. I don’t know that there’s a way to override this potion. It may be scripted.

Yeah, that is not the problem though. The problem is with the flight in the lesson starting at say, 6000 feet of altitude but the altimeter starts out at 5000 and then it tries to catch up to the real altitude. It is really annoying since the instructor thinks I am flying below the required altitude

Please thumbs this up guys so that it may be fixed soon!

I have the same problem and in other areas of the training activities the altimeter starts winding up while sitting on the ground.

I have noticed it too! When on the runway the altimeter now mostly says I’m about 1600 ft agl. Pressing B does not help (pressing B key is not working at all). So, I do it manually via the altimeter adjustment knob in the cockpit. Sometimes the altimeter reaches “0” with 29.80 instead the 29.92 from ATC. Very confusing. I now also noticed, that even riding over the runway and taxiway gives different altitude readings (on a flat ground!!!) .

My problem is a tad different. While sitting on the ground the altimeter is turning higher and higher. While in flight the flight instructor says we are starting at 5500 ft. while the altimeter is at 4000 ft. and rising.

Hi.

This is not a solution of the “bug” but a workaround:
Once the lessons has started (e.g. when the instructor starts speaking), exit the flight (ESC) and restart the lesson.
In my case the altimeter was then correct and stable in all cases, i.e. starting on the ground or in flight.

I was surprised, but pressing ESC, going back to the first Training screen, and starting the session again works for me.

Thanks

I noticed that the problem is fixed if you cross over from one lesson to another without exiting to main menu first

I can say that this issue has now been fixed as of today with the most recent update!!!
