Always start in normal mode?

Is there a way to make MSFS always start in normal mode? I have so many CTD:s all the timeand every time I get the choice to start in safe mode or normal mode. Why would I ever want to start it in safe mode? It’s useless if you can’t use third party stuff.

The safe mode is a mode where you can e.g. possible revert some settings, get the app running because possible caused mods are not looaded, etc. . Thus, these dialog seems fine and is a usually pattern to do it in such way.

If you allways get CTDs its better to find out “why” , I get usually zero of it. As example if you know that a mod cause it, how it sounds in your case, ask the developer of the mod about a fix.

If you don’t like the dialog itself, you can e.g. create a script which removes the file: running.lock. Without these file MSFS assume all was fine before.

Not exact same as what you request, but bit similar and some background infos, you can find as example within these wish:

( e.g for MS-Store and Steam is mentioned where these file is located , shortcut to steam )

I think you may be missing the point of what Safe Mode is for. It’s not to use regularly. It’s specifically to test for stability if you’re having CTD issues with 3rd party (both community and store) add-ons.

A lot of CTDs are caused by plugins. Not all, but many are. The idea is to run in safe mode without ANY 3rd party plugins, either community or marketplace. That lets you test if your sim is working correctly in a 100% vanilla state.

If you’re able to run MSFS in safe mode without crashing, but it crashes when you load in normal mode with your add-ons, then it means one or more of your plugins are likely causing the crash. It’s the up to you to troubleshoot and figure out what the bad plugin is.

If you sim crashes with safe mode, then you have some bigger problems.

That’s the point of safe mode.
