Flying the Titan right now at about 10,000 and stuck at an airspeed of about 110. Can’t get it to go any faster. And trying to fly higher by ascending even by 100-200 fpm crashes the airspeed. Am I missing something? Thanks!
Is that Indicated Air Speed? Your True Air Speed is probably higher.
I think Indicated? Not totally sure. My airspeed is just right at the edge of stall, any adjustments and the stall warning horn goes off. Not sure how to get the airspeed up, I’m max on throttles/rpm/etc
It’s likely cold at altitude, is the Pitot Heat on? Stall warn heat? Any visible icing on the airframe? Assuming of course that the Pitot tube covers were removed during preflight, if started on the apron.
Yep, all on. Actually, looks like maybe I needed to adjust the mixture more lean. It wasn’t enough. Soon as I did that airspeed jumped forward. Still running a bit slow. But learning as I go!
The airspeed tape shows Indicated. Somewhere on the bottom is the True Air Speed. Also, at 10,000 you’ll need to adjust Mixture to get best engine performance since I believe this is a Naturally Aspirated engine.
From my experience, 10,000’ is not great in the 404 as it is today. You might get better performance at a lower altitude. This is of course defective of the flight model.
Also, have you pulled your props back into the green RPM range? It will cruise a little faster at a lower RPM, as long as it is in the green.
