Is there anybody else using an RX 6800 XT and noticing that Junction Temp really shoots up (100+) when there is cloud/moisture around. If I look inside the cockpit Juntion Temp’s drop back to approx 75. Or if I fly with the weather on the Preset of “Clear Skies” I have no problems.
In P3Dv5.1 (with ActiveSky and ASCA) I can fly in clouds without any issues
There’s no use comparing with other simulators. Totally different engine and graphics.
Make sure you have proper airflow in your case. Open the case and run it like that to see if with enough air exchange the temps are better.
The max value for junction temp is 110°C, it’s where throttling starts.
The sim is quite demanding on the graphics, but so will be any game that maxes out your graphics card. It’s nothing specific to this sim.
Cooling is a hardware issue, not software.
Same thing here, I just modified the fan curve on my card to be more aggressive. Now with the weather warming up I also make sure my intake filters are cleaned more regularly in the case.
Ι have one and never exceeds 85(MAX) in the junction spot, and i live in Greece where we have BIG summer. You need better airflow in your pc
However, that particular spot,is ok to be high temp. But you can certainly do better
Is it the stock Radeon 6800xt ? if so then yes you probably should adjust the fan curve a little more aggressively. Your second option is to turn down the voltage just a tad manually or by using the auto undervolt option in the Radeon software. For cards like this your case and ventilation is very important as the exhaust is coming out in all directions within the case so if there’s not much ventilation to allow the hot air to exit quickly your going to have somewhat of an issue.
My card is also a 6800xt but i have a pretty high manual overclock on mine and its not the stock Radeon 6800xt card with the stock cooler so it wouldn’t be much help to compare cards. but my tjunction sits at around 86 to 88 in the sim (overclocked).
My case is a Lian Li Lancool II mesh performance.
