[ANNOUCEMENT] Miltech Simulations MH-60, in Partnership with Blackbird!

ANNOUNCING OUR NEXT HELICOPTER FOR FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2020 AND 2024

We are proud to announce Miltech Simulations MH-60, in partnership with Blackbird Simulations! The team is very excited about this project, as a culmination of several years of research and development in weapon systems, external sling loads and mission-based content. The project is now in final integration phase, meaning that it will be released in two months or less.

We will be covering the Sierra, Romeo and Jayhawk variants, along with a wide range of cabin configurations, special features and a handful of hand-made “mini sceneries”. We are also working on a brand-new, revolutionary mission system to support the aircraft, as well as other aircraft on the Miltech Simulations catalog, to support from SAR Missions and Coast Guard to Antisubmarine Warfare missions with the MH-60.

We had the opportunity to get close to one of these incredible machines a few weeks ago, and over the following weeks we will be releasing content of the development process as Dev Vlogs.

And since many were wondering… What about the UH-60? Well, the famous “Blackhawk” is based on a very similar airframe, but has an entirely different avionics suite. We are well aware of the demand, and are seriously considering releasing UH-60 variants in the future, as a separate product. No ETA at this time.

This announcement is very exciting. A partnership between Miltech and Blackbird is a fantastic endeavor.

Since the release of the IFE/Heatblur F-14, it comes as welcome news that two other leaders in military addon development have now combined their strengths. Although I was already looking forward to a UH-60 variant in 2020/2024, this addon is now the most anticipated addon for me personnally - to be puchased on it’s day 1 release.

Simply a wonderful announcement to see. :+1: Sierra COMBAT Search and Rescue …weapons free… (even though it’ll be just visual)

Afterthought: The announcement also heightens my anticipation for more fulfilling carrier ops with WWII aircraft, since I recall “rumors” of a 2024 native Blackbird F4U Corsair and an A6M Zero - Although I realize I’m reading more into this announcement than what is actually written. One can hope though. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is very good news.
Will it feature an autopilot?

Yes, an AFCS system will be simulated. Scope is yet to be determined, we are actively working on it

Looking good.
Is it planned to get it integrated into career mode?

A Firehawk variation for Career mode would be pretty epic.

No plans for career mode compatibility.
We are developing our own mission system, far more flexible than career mode. It will all function from free flight.

We don’t want to force users to go through all the different “training paths” in order to access missions. Additionally, our system supports user-created missions as well as random missions available anywhere, at any time.

It’s a different alternative to career mode, supporting many more modes of operation and full flexibility to the user.

Firehawk is closer to the UH60 than MH60 (same avionics suite as UH60, while MH60 has a completely different cockpit).

We do have plans for a future UH60 product, which will probably include Firehawk as well given the popularity

This is going to be an amazing release… really opens the door to even more detailed military aircraft and missions, which is going to be huge for the military sim crowd. Super excited about North Island. Thanks for keeping the dream alive!

That is fantastic news for those of us who don’t want to grind through early career mode to get to the fun stuff.

Interesting to read about getting stranded in Nuuk due to weather…was your team hanging out with the FSimStudios guys? That’s how they ended up making their version of Nuuk.

Miltech and FSimStudios are owned by the same company  We share various resources, including same management team.

Will any autopilot improvements learned from MH-60 development eventually make their way to the CH-47?

Yes, eventually
