From the FSLTL discord channel:

MOST WANTED: Node.js/React/Electron developers for the final push to release.

Please refer to #about to discover other means of contribution.

For your information:
FAIB is still active, and he as wrote in his forum that he will not grant premission to convert his stuff, since he will do this by himself!

The trailer is the same as the first. Show of something Sofie does not have all the premissions… :frowning:

Copyright remains by the original developer even if he is no longer active or is dead (then up to 50-70 years after this death).

Forgive my ignorance but isn’t that for the said developer to revert directly? Why is AIG getting into this?

the post was just an general information. And the information about that FAIB is not granting premissions is even public: FS2020 support - fsxaibureau.com

So the developer of FSLTL should have seen that getting premissions will not be possible for now

@SofieGrozovski or @BigBabyKP can one of you guys please clarify the FAIB models permissions as Kai posted? It will be healthy to the community to hear your folks take on this.

Well I sincerely hope they are able to resolve the apparent permissions/copyright issues for the sake of the wider community. This project looks like it’s produced an amazing add-on and it would be a real shame if we weren’t able to enjoy it. Fingers crossed!

If there’s any pending issue, it’s between FAIB and FSLTL to sort out. It’s quite strange to see uninvolved third parties so eager to get involved into something that does not concern them.

I’m quite positive they have each other’s contact, so if there’s anything that needs sorting, they’ll do so themselves.

It’s not the first time that AIG is pointing the finger on copyright’s they have nothing to do with. If the rights owner sees a problem than THEY need to make a move and not somebody else.

Indeed. As for me, it’s good to have options. The more the better. I still wish they could have worked together, because if they did, we’d likely already have an amazing AI solution with 100% livery coverage, great sounds, good models, and all the bells and whistles, working both online and offline. Pity it couldn’t happen.

If they can’t play nice with each other and work together, then I guess I’ll be content with having the options. :man_shrugging:

@Kaiii3 is absolutely right about the copyrights. And AIG has done great job with the injector. Dont blame him/her, just doing job by the book.

Here is a tought: if you dont care if there is Copyright protected models on FSLTL, you dont care to download cracked payware aircraft/scenerys from dark world of… so you are a pirate. Just a tough, think about it.

What should FSLTL do? Wait FAIB to convert models and ask permission? How about use of MDL’s? There is no anymore CTD problem, AIG has mostly unconverted mdl models from p3d pack and they work great. So do like AIG, make installer that download those FAIB models from FAIB source. You have own from scratch liveries? Maeby they are allready combatible with FAIB p3d models?

Do same for TFS models or try to find alternative models.

As it seems, there is high skilled team behind FSLTL and they have allready done amazing job, as AIG has. AIG has system for offline schedule based traffic, FSLTL has unique fr24 based live traffic… so we have two great solutions. Now we just need those two to corborate a little bit. Kaii has connections, how about helping here a little bit?

Doing the job by the book (or doing the job at all) does not include pointing fingers at others without any title to do so. If indeed AIG had a direct connection with FAIB (to which it appears that FSLTL has repeatedly tried to ask for permission, receiving no response) perhaps it’d be a lot more constructive to use that connection to help, as you say. If one actually cares for what’s good for the community, that is.

Beyond that, any copyright dispute (existing or perceived) is exclusively between the parties involved. It’s for them to sort it out in any way they see fit.

Let the freeware developers enforce their own EULA, it isn’t up to anybody else to do so and the developer can reinforce his or her rights should they wish too.

Great u ! I do think MSFS has done some base work about ai traffic but never perfect. There should some sim lovers work out a much more better ai traffic plan by take advantages of Msfs default ai system .U really did now !

Well I think the developers have gone backwards with AI. It wasn’t brilliant to begin with, planes taking off and landing like planks of wood for example, something they have never improved upon but since SU5 its gone down hill even worse. Sadly they just dont seem to recognise the importance of this aspect of the simulation but for me at airports in particular, its a make or break (immersion wise) feature.

Focus on the topic, not on each other. This finger-pointing on issues tertiary to the product stops now.

But the topic is about the product that doesent exits… yet. So only thing we can do, is speculate.

It certainly exists. It’s currently in advanced testing. Fully working, as far as I can see on my own screen right now.

Speculation when taken too far is the same as non-constructive behavior. So, everyone reading the thread - tread lightly.
