I can share a few new screenshots
A full written project update is to come - trust me, there is a good reason for the silence and delay.

Looks really slick!
Will the U2 have a functional camera feature for the user to interact with?
Any idea how much more of a wait until the veil of silence is lifted?
So, the camera system is a good question. We have experimented with various solutions, as MSFS does not support “camera-in-gauge” rendering. We have managed to create a downview camera, though it has a couple of limitations: No weather is displayed (always clear skies through the camera), position is fixed (cannot be tilted up/down, always looking straight down), and no lights in nighttime (just a darker version of the daytime camera). Zoom is fully supported.
That being said, this applies to FS2020 only. This may change in FS24.
As for silence - we will have details to share before end of the month. Just waiting for clearance from the partners.
Cool looking forward to all of it
Ummm, I’m pretty sure that’s top secret information, there…
This plane was not even on my radar ! Heh heh
Looking forward to it
MILTECH SIMULATIONS AND FS2024
“There is a good reason for the delays…” “Something big is coming soon…”
Now we can finally comment on it!
Introducing the Microsoft-Miltech Simulations C17 Globemaster III for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition! For the past 8 months we have been secretly working on that has become by far the most ambitious project we have embarked on. The C17 Globemaster III is most versatile cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force, and a key logistical assets for many airforces around the globe. We had the opportunity to create this incredible aircraft for the upcoming MSFS2024 and I must say – we are incredibly proud of the result. This is by far the BEST product we have ever created. I know you will have many questions, so I will answer a few here. Bare in mind, this is very much still an active development and we are still under NDA, so there are questions we cannot respond to at this time.
• Will it be free?: It will be included with the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Premium Deluxe package at no additional cost. Other paths to acquiring the aircraft are up to Microsoft to decide.
• How complex the simulation is?: There is a very good level of depth. As you may understand, this being an aircraft in actively military service, there are areas where classification does not allow a deeper simulation. However, all displays and systems are very well represented.
• Can it carry cargo?: Yes, several cargo load options are possible, including various types of military vehicles, presidential limos, helicopter fuselages, pallets, etc.
• SOUNDS?: 100% recorded from a real C-17, and in collaboration with Echo19.
• XXXXX is inaccurate on the Screenshot: This is an old image from several weeks ago. The project is not completed. The images do not represent the final product.
Now, with the elephant in the room out of the way… we now have to address the OTHER elephant in the room: CH47D.
If you look closely at the announcement, to the right of C17 you will find our beloved CH47D. Well, I have to inform you that unfortunately this is NOT our CH47D. In fact, we were completely unaware of it until now (Yep, working with MS for the past 8 months and zero info with regards to this announcement – information is kept confidential to minimize leaks).
Regardless of this, we continue working on our promise to provide FREE UPDATES of all our existing catalog of products, including CH47D, to MSFS2024; and will continue to leverage all the new features the platform will bring. Miltech Simulations’ CH47D will continue to be supported and updated for years to come. Nevertheless, working on the Wokka has been a great pleasure for us, and has served as testbed of technologies that will become part of many of our future offerings. We are in fact partnering with this developer on various projects to come – however, we have no connection whatsoever with the CH47 Project.
What about U2 now?
Well, as you may imagine, C17 took a lot of resources away from U2 for a period of time. These resources are now back to work with the U2, and we are expecting significant progress in the upcoming weeks. I cannot say if this will release before or after FS2024 – but given the amount of content coming with the new sim, we may decide to reorganize our pipeline without prior notice.
We recently got information that one key feature we were missing on the U2 is properly introduced on FS24, so that’s also an important factor to consider.
And… Now what?
Time to continue working on the 5 or so aircraft we are working on… ah, and the Refueling Pro module
Looks like I’m purchasing MSFS2024 Deluxe Edition now!
sweet, C17! thanks for making this and for xbox. Aviator edition for me,
do you guys have any plans to make a UH or SH60? Blackbird Simulations began one but has gone dormant on it & refuses to say anything about it as of yet. hoping that changes. Can you say anything?
I like the fact that MS and Asobo work with 3rd party devs
But I just want the U-2 and I don’t like the fact that I couldn’t have it sooner because of this
Anyway… it’s what it is, and I love to know that 3rd party devs are supported from MS and Asobo even more than the fact of having the U-2 released
Can’t say the specifics as I’m still under NDA - But it does relate to the new camera options
I wish we had the capacity to push both at the same time… but the C-17 is massive!
The good news is that U2 is very well ahead in the development, so it won’t be long until its completed.
Love you guys
And then I saw another piece at the International Spy Museum in Washington DC. I wonder how many other pieces are out there.
