Anomoly in Reverb G2

Hi.

I have been unable to fly in vr for the past couple of months while I saved to buy a V2 cable. Finally got and did a test last night and everything looked good. Came home today excited to get up in the air and out of nowhere I have this on blob on my screen. Its not on the lens. Anyone have any advice?

Where did you leave your headset?
It might be sun-burn on screen if direct sunlight hit the lenses.

Definitely sun burn on a lens. Had this with my G2 V1 about 6 months ago. Fortunitely the replaced it under warranty. I was very lucky.

WOW! Glad I read this. I do a lot of my MSFS flying out on our deck. When I get done or take a break, I just set the G2 on a chair. Even though that part of the deck is covered, It is quite possible it was vulnerable to the sun if the angle was right during the morning or evening.

Hope RegretfulTen41 can get the G2 replaced.

Similar defect on my G2. But never in direct sunlight. Looked like a blob of liquid on LCD magnified. Maybe grease from IP adjust mechanism. Headset can get quite hot after long use. Replaced by HP even though warranty period expired by three months. Good luck with HP.

Yeah - it’s a drag and a complete brainfart on my end, but it’s a rookie mistake. Definitely sunburn. Nothing for it. I can fly it, but it’s like I got a stye in my eye LOL. I was able to find a refirb headset that is missing the earphone and faceplate, but the display is guaranteed. Got it for $150. I have all the rest with my store bought unit (from almost 3 years ago).

Thanks guys. Appreciate the quality feedback.
